Scrolling glitch

There is a well-documented Firefox glitch with slow scrolling when a background image is present. CPU was pegging out at 100% when I tried to scroll and it was at a crawl. After I AdBlocked bg_tile.png, everything seems to be working normally. At first I didn’t notice that there was a BG image - it is very subtle - so it took a while to set things right.

Hi...

We will look into this and see what we may be any to do if anything.

Might I ask what OS you are using (Windows, Mac) and what version of browser?

Thanks

I am on Debian Squeeze (stable) with Iceweasel (Firefox) 3.5.16. But I have been following this bug for YEARS - it was a problem even before I dumped Microshaft. I still get occasional email updates from Bugzilla so I know it is ongoing.

Actually, scrolling is still a problem that makes it nearly impossible to scroll a page properly either by keyboard or mouse even after a page has supposedly loaded. There must be something working behind the scenes that gets the scroll function confused as to its position. If I wait patiently, it eventually settles in. Really way too many bells and whistles in the new forum. KISS!!!
