Denon 2312 zone 2 wattage out put

Gday all, im currently in the process of running the zone 2 of my denon to another amp (thats outside) and from that amp to 2 out door speakers) I like the idea of a seperate amp for volume ctrl without having to go inside.

My question is does zone 2 run the an individual wattage (ie. its a seperate chanel) or does it use power from the main zone and split it.

Anyone know?

better off using the preouts?

If you are doing that for volume control only then just set up airplay and control it from your phone.

I think the OP is asking if when using the pre-outs, how does it effect Zone 1, correct OP?

I am not familiar with that AVR, but most AVRs that offer a Zone 2 pre-out, send an un-amplified signal. So if you have a 5.1 AVR at 100WPC and you use the zone 2 pre-outs there is no loss of WPC to the main 5.1 system, aka Zone 1.

Since the Zone 2 pre-outs are unamped, you are doing the right thing to run it to the second amp outside.

The real concern would be making sure that the run from the Zone 2 pre-outs is not too long, and that weather will not have a negative effect on the AVR.

TY, that makes sence. And the main AVR will be inside, the outside amp and speakers will be a 2nd hand, so if i get a year out of ill be happy. (will be undercover).
