Has the 2 min. Smart Hub flash been fixed yet?

Mine still has the smart hub flash of today, 01-02-2013
I wish Samsung would fix this mess.

Thanks mario24601!

I believe the Samsung Sound Bar (HW-E450) will fit right under there without obstructing the screen. My friend has one below his LG 55" (6700) series model, and it looked pretty thin.

It will. My HW-E450 fits perfectly right under my UN50ES6500. Looks like it was made to go there. smile.gif

Got a very slim wall mount from Monoprice. .59" away from the wall. Cables fit perfectly behind.

Is this a coincidence or could it be tied to the light sensor as part of the logic flaw??
Of course I said a few words and my wife was wondering, WTF are you doing, its 6am and your taking pictures of the TV.... biggrin.gif

Well mine is doing the same thing? I will walk in and the logo is on. Sometimes I have seen it flicker, that scares me. Thought is might be something going out on it. Did you end up returning it or did it get fixed with a an update? Ever call Samsung on it?

So far so good though. There is the clouding which I would not have noticed if it was not pointed out to me. Now is that a design flaw on the LED Edge lite or a bad TV?

I saw the usual smart hub "Flash" this morning and it looked normal. I'll check it in a couple minutes and report back.

Just checked and our smart hub looks normal.

Just read at USAToday.com that Samsung is planning to reveal a new Smart Hub at CES. Wonder if that explains the delay in a patch to fix the flash.

Not to mention the first Smart Evolution Kit {Link}

"The kit is basically a brain transplant for the TVs. It includes a new A15 quad-core 1.35GHz processor that offers a maximum 3.6 times increase in speed versus last year’s dual-core processor systems, according to the company. The speed bump, which also comes with increased GPU speed and more memory, should make Web browsing and app use a good deal zippier."

"...between $200 and $300..."

I had the usual SmartHub flash today, then a message came up saying something to the effect of "Deleting YouTube for TV" and then below it "1 of 18". I went into the SmartHub and it did appear that a number of my icons were missing as well.

Bought the UN60ES7150 we've had our TV for about a week and a half. My only complaints are with the sound and smart hub. The sound is actually horrible especially while trying to watch a movie. I get a rattling almost like sound during certain parts of the movie that turns your face up and makes you almost want to return the tv. If I don't have it at the volume level I do you can't hear certain parts of the film. Is there a setting I should be using that I'm not to prevent this? My second complaint is the same as many of people's, the smart hub likes to flash on the screen randomly. It seems to only happen shortly after the tv has been turned on my husband says, but I could had swore its happened a few times after the tv has been on for quite some time. I'm keeping my eyes open. Like many we got our TV from Costco at a sale price and 90 days for return. I haven't called samsung support that is my last resort. We actually have many samsung products and their customer service is one of the most revolting I've ever had to deal with. They are pretty worthless but we love their products. I guess it's the price we pay for being dedicated samsung product users. But other than that this tv replaced our Samsung 46D6050, which we still have for another room and still works great.

Until the 2min. flash gets fixed I'll leave the Smart Hub Alone....eek.gif

Will the ES7100 get the new Smart Hub in 2013? I doubt it since the 7100 can not be upgraded.

As to to the TV sound quality. Try Menu > Sound > Sound Mode > Clear. There are other settings available under Sound Mode. The other option is to get a Sound Bar.

Did you perform the Sound Test? Menu > Support > Self Diagnosis > Sound Test.

Nobody seems to be posting Xbox 360 setting for the Samsung ES7100, so here are my settings. Hope you find them useful. I used Battlefield 3 and a number of other games and videos to get the picture the way I like for gaming on my ES7100. Hi everybody. Glad to join the official Samsung UNXXES7100 thread. I've spent a good bit of time reading through the entire thread and I must say, I've learnt alot. Couldn't resist the bestbuy online boxing week sale here in Toronto and shelled out almost 1800 CND for this baby.

At the moment, am in week 2 and still "breaking it in". Overall, quite impressed with the PQ particularly when watching NBA games in the 2D-3D mode. The settings that most of you here have already suggested have been of great help. The sound of this TV however is nothing to talk about as we all now know. One would think a TV this "smart" would have better sound quality. I guess reading the reviews before making the purchase kind of prepared me for that. I have a portable sony dock station which I connected to the TV. It produces some decent bass and highs so, it'll do for now until I get a sound bar or something. Initial setup was a breeze. Am connected to my home network using ethernet cable directly from my router, though am yet to explore with the smarthub in detail.

The one thing that I can say I detest without a doubt is the cheap looking remote control with huge calculator-like buttons. I went to bestbuy some time before xmas and snooped around for this TV. The sales rep made me believe that I'd be getting the qwerty remote control but that's not the case. I definitely have issues using it when trying to browse so far. Perhaps a wireless keyboard and mouse will do? Anybody using the samsung wireless keyboard yet?

Thanks.

Really like your setup. Care to share how you managed to "hide" the cables back there?
I've pretty much read this entire thread, but I just got a new UN55ES7150 (Costco's version of the 7100) and have a couple of questions:

First, my set came with the "dreaded" 1023 firmware version. I don't see any issues so far (and I don't remember what they were exactly), so should I upgrade to the latest version or stay put unless something goes wrong?

Second, my only complaint so far is a "halo" or distortion affect around players when watching (American) football. When viewing a distant or wide shot which shows lots of players on the screen, there is a blur around the individual players, which is most noticeable around their helmets. I'm seen this on other LEDs as well. Are there any settings that might help reduce this?

Thanks for any insights!

Brian

Brian... I have firmware Ver 1023 out of the box and all is OK (Sync Plys Application turned off) The colors are good and the 3D is amazing! I just got a Sony BDP-S590 this weekend . I just watched Avatar 3D and have never seen such clean 3D. As far as the firmware version being NG, It was not a good update on line but it seem's to be just fine when it is the first version loaded prior to shipment. I would NOT advise any update if you are satisfied with the TV's overall performance. Ver 1023 out of the box is not bug free but is very stable on my TV. The Smart Hub Flash problem occured during a smart hub update over a month ago and it is not a firmware version bug so I think we all just have to wait it out fot the "magic on line smart hub Auto update fix" that Samsung has promised us but is now delayed. I am loving my 7100 now but I didn't screw up this one with a firmware update crash like a few others that had to be exchanged afterwards. Enjoy your TV!!!!
