I read this so often and thought it was true. I went ahead and bought some 3- 1.4's off eBay for 5.99 and have yet to install them but the1.3 with Ethernet that I bought so long ago works perfect with the 3D? So what is the deal?

I agree the HDMI stuff is getting weird. I use an old xbox HDM cable and 3D is fine. When I did recently try one with ethernet etc for my PS3 it didnt work. I dont get it.

I think if you received the $200 gift card and if you decide to return it they will just subtract $200 from the purchase price when you first purchased it.

I will fine out tonight what happens. Either way, the gift card has been sitting around so I will just give it back and have them price match it if they give me a hard time.

Just wanted to thank everyone that's been contributing to this thread. I just ordered a 60" the other day and all the information here is what made that decision possible, so thanks to everyone that has contributed bug fixes, opinions, calibration settings etc. I'm excited to get the tv and it's nice to know there are people willing to help if it's needed.

did the hub every get updated and fixed? that is the only thing holding me back from buy this tv right now

Got my 7100 ($1497 + $150 card) <--- this was a factory trade up from Samsung cuz my 7003 blitzed. Needed new panel and Smart hub glitch was annoying

New 7100
HD channels from local provider are perfect. Medium lit room that can go dark like a theater easily. Picture was perfect out of the box. The only thing I adjusted was the eco sensor (OFF).
Played movies from flash drive and xbox - Perfect. Xbox gaming has never been better. Looks great ( i prefer natural mode)
Sound is excellent (not mounted on wall) it is on a TV stand at least 3 feet from wall. Audio out to stereo system - used sparingly.

We will probably never use the 3D functions (not into that) Smart hub functions faster than the 7003 I had.

Using the LAN interface on my network. I have a Windows home server (wireless) and stream movies to Samsung. Pause/playback/rewind etc functions better when movie is on USB.

Updated Firmware!! No Problems
This is week 2 on the TV and we have put a lot of hours on it so far.

Was it a firmware or a Smart hub update?

Mine was both

Mine was both too, but that was also due to the fact I hadn't updated the firmware since I purchased it in November. I know it was definitely a Smart Hub update, if the firmware was also updated to fix it I can't say with 100% certainty. It is fixed though, that's all that matters. (Even though I have since returned the TV in anticipation of the F series in March.)

If it has a detachable power cord, make sure it is plugged firmly into the back of the set. That solved a similar problem on mine three years ago. Hope this is it for you.

The ES7100 is nice, its better than the A850 in some ways but, in other ways weaker....

For me, as long as you are sitting within the width of the TV, viewing angles are fine. So this pretty much limits you to 2 people sitting in front of the TV.

Im gonna order the 7150 tonight from sams. I dont think thers any diff from 7100 and 7150.

No difference from the two. No matter what, I think that with all these high gloss LED screen, your viewing angle won't be great if you are watching the screen at 20-30 degrees.

I just purchased this tv and was excited to watch action movies and sport since the ads claim this tv is great for fast movement but I want soon dissappointed. I found even in sitcoms when a person moved quickly there was a break in the picture. I ensured the CMR was turned on standard and even tried it turned off but that reduced the clarity of the picture. The clarity and quality is amazing when there is no quick movements on the screen but action is a problem. Is this a problem with this tv (from reviews it should not be)? How can I change setting to fix it. I am watching HD through satellite. any help would be great.

Try Auto Motion plus set to Clear.

Also try Film Mode set to Auto1 for 1080i HDTV Broadcasts.

It's still gorgeous. And I'm glad to see you're happy with the 7100. I keep up with this thread, because it would be my replacement, if need be. Owners seem pretty happy with it.

I do have a question: In the A series, our AMP settings were Off, Low, Medium, and High. I know you guys can do custom blur/judder, but what exactly is Clear? Is it our Off?

Any good recommendation for a wall mount to hang this up ?

I notice on samsung's website that the 7150 has a 18mil:1 contrast ratio where as the 7100 says 20mil:1 contrast ratio. Is the 7100 superior to the 7150? This seems odd.

sorry for the bump im just about to order the 7150 in a few minutes. Im guessing this is merely a gimmick to separate the two in someway.

It does have a detachable power cord which I make sure its plugged in firm yesterday. I also updated firmware as the factory installed version was 1023 so updated it to 1025, although I done know if that has something to do with that, we'll see.

I'm thinking there probably is not too much difference, but I'm kind of a tech geek, so I always go for the better specs. I believe that the 7150 is for the cheaper retailers out there and it is manufactured with cheaper parts possibly. But I'm sure you could not go wrong either way.
