Also my Netflix streaming from the PS3 used to generate awesome picture, now I see more sharpness and digital particles all over the place. I lowered the sharpness to 10, but that didn't seems to help. I checked to see if any digital filters were on, but they are all off.
Any help to get this image back to how it was?
I have been tweaking since I installed this version 1029 also. I lost the sweet spot using Standard and agree about the contrast and the color shift. I thought I got a real good image back but later changed my mind. I did a software recalibration and the results looked BAD! So I played some more & I mean a ton and this is where I am at now. These settings seem OK but was a very unusual way to calibrate. I set my black Brightness level with dynamic Contrast set to High and Black Tone Off. I set the color and Contrast level with Dynamic Contrast Off.
Before I did this I did a full reset. After the reset, I still thought the sharpness needed to be set very low or I got artifacts and noise in the picture. I remembered a post from PiratesCove doing a reset on the picture positioning which seemed to clear up some artifacts so I tried it and I REALLY think it did help. I was then able to put sharpness back to the setting I used prior to the update. Why wouldn't a full reset clear this up? Who knows?
Anyways here some settings you can try for standard viewing mode.
Back light:13 Contrast: 96 Brightness: 48 sharpness: 20 Color: 38 Tint: 50/50 Color Tone: Std No Noise filters are On. Color Space: Auto Dyn Contrast: High Black Tone: Off Gamma:0 Film Mode: Auto 2 Auto Motion Plus: Standard (or Clear)
I couldn't seem to be 100% happy and was going to get a new main Board for older firmware but instead, I'm now awaiting my new F7100 after a Panel replacement fiasco previously posted. During that repair, the tech declined my request to put the main board in since the replacement panel he brought was defective even though the TV was torn apart. He did have a hunch that without the board swap, my odds were higher for a possible TV exchange. I then agreed and....He was right!
