Thanks man. I will. So your using the Nitra settings in Standard mode?

Is there any way to save those settings in the other source inputs or do they have to be changed manually?

BTW. Lovely bunch of people on this forum.

I started inputting your settings, Pirate Cove, but I got 3/4 of the way through the Movie setting in the TV source and it dawned on me that I was going to have to repeat the process for Movie, Standard, Dynamic and Natural for each of the TV sources and I thought STUFF THAT!! I'm far too lazy to go through all of that.

Hey guys,

I have a UN60ES7100 and am running the 1027 firmware. I have enjoyed the TV since I purchased it in February and had no complaints. However, yesterday the image seemed dim. At first I thought my eyes just hadn't adjusted from being outside and didn't give it too much thought. However, when I sat down to watch the game last night, the image was so dim that it looked as if I was wearing sun glasses.

I haven't messed with the calibration in a couple months since I found settings on this thread that I liked. I think I have them set to one of Pirate Cove's settings under the "Movie" mode. The problem continued even when I switched to Natural, Standard and Dynamic.

I checked to see if the Eco sensor thing was on, and it wasn't. I can't find any setting that is currently "on" that would cause the image to dim itself.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Any troubleshooting advice? Do I need to call Samsung? Update to the new Firmware?

Many thanks!

What you are describing is that your backlight isn't functioning. Try increasing you backlight to max at 20 to see if the screen gets brighter at all. If it does I would guess software, if nothing happens hardware could be the issue.

Other troubleshooting that you could do is reset the TV to factory specs, just make sure to write down your settings as you will lose everything.

If the above doesn't work call Samsung, but one of the first things they will have you do is update firmware, so you might as well do it at that point.

Hey guys quick question...

Is there ANY way to set the automotion plus to smooth or even activate it when your on gaming mode? I'm gaming mode looks great on video games... but I'd love to have the smooth effect with animation or games!

No way to use smoothing, it is disabled in game mode to reduce lag. If you aren't playing a first person shooter online then game mode shouldn't really be needed.

My kids play Guitar Hero on our 7100 and Game Mode makes all the difference with lag.

I've had some problems with my UA46ES7100 today.

Firstly, while watching, it started to turn itself off and on.

While waiting on the phone to Samsung customer help, I noticed the TV didn't pick up my home wireless anymore.

The Samsung person got me to turn the TV off and on (like an episode of The IT Crowd) and that seems to have rectified the off and on issue.

Unfortunately the wireless issue remains. Any advice?

The 1033 update is now available. I'll see how this update fares.

I had a problem on my set where I could not connect to the wireless. Powering off and on did not resolve the problem. I eventually got it to work by changing from my HDMI input to TV Signal. From there I was able to see and configure the wireless.
When I returned to the HDMI input the wireless was still working and could once again see my router.

Might be worth a try...

Hmm, I don't think I saw any difference in picture quality...

I am having problems with my wifi also. A wired connection works fine but now i cannot connect via wifi. I try to scan and it does not pick up anything.

I am on 1014 firmware. I will try updating and see if that helps. I tried resetting and that did not work.

EDIT: updated to 1033 and it seems to be working after trying to set up wifi a couple of times. I just happened to click on wifi direct as it was greyed out for some reason. After it told me it was not available, my wifi started working.

Does anyone have any advice on updating firmware from 1025 to 1031? I definitely saw improvements in picture quality when I updated to 1025 (I forget what the prior version is), but I know some folks have had negative experiences with upgrades. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Well, looks like 1031 has been replaced by 1034, so I'll ask the same question regarding upgrading from 1025 to 1034. Thanks!

I recently setup my UN55ES7100, and it downloaded the 1033 updated, I see that the newest one on the website is 1034, tried doing the update from USB, but it says no update files found. Has anyone successfully updated from 1033 to 1034? Or is it in fact the same file and that is why it isn't allowing me to update.

P.S. - The online update mode doesn't find any files either.

Thanks in advanced!

I've been lurking around these forums lately, I'm soon to get my first apartment and I will be able to really start my journey into Home Theater enthusiasm :P

I think this new 1034 update is the first update I have ever done on a Samsung TV ( I have had 3 ) that it actually may have helped the overall picture quality.

Awesome! Glad its working out well for you. This is my first high end type TV, and so far I am loving it, I was watching Toy Story last night and it looked amazing. I haven't gotten use to the fully calibrated look of the TV, especially when watching animated films, so right now I have been using a mashup of what looks good to my eye, and what the calibration disc says I should have ;P Once my TV stand comes in and I can prop the TV up correctly I will have to re-calibrate and see how it goes smile.gif

I found moving from FW 1027 to FW1033 should a noticeable difference in better PQ. Seems like the colors are a bit brighter. I'll post my calibration numbers tonight that I got from when Best Buy did my free calibration. I'll probably update to FW 1034 as well.

That would be awesome! Give as much detail as possible smile.gif I know copying settings isn't ideal, but I do like using them as reference.

Much appreciated!
