Did grayscale with 94, worth 2nd pass with uv?

Got my D3 PRO the other day (thanks Tom!) and redid my grayscale from my old D2. It's amazing how far off the D2 was. I used CIE94 and was able to get <1 dE from 20-100. Would I benefit anything with a 2nd pass using uv, or should I just stop?

do you mean LUV or UV? I think ChromaPure only does LUV.

Right, LUV. I just figured out that Chromapure lets you can change your dE method on the fly, so I reloaded my session from last night and changed the dE to LUV and it converted everything from 94 to LUV.....sweet!

This is just a matter of terminology. We allow selection of any one of 4 dE methods: CIELAB, CIELUV, CIE94, or CIEDE2000. CIE94 is the default. However, we don't consider luminance is grayscale measurements. We handle this with gamma. This issue has been discussed on this forum previously. We use the luminance element in dE calculations only for color. So, technically speaking we use uv for grayscale and Luv for color.

Anything under 2 is pretty much perfect. THX sets 3 or below as a threshold and SMPTE specifies 4 or below. You are good to go.
