So after having this tv for a while now I am still very happy with it and am still using the very last settings I posted but did notice one thing while watching football. Those with the de-blur option probably noticed that with de-blur set to 9 fast moving objects like the football in mid flight look terrible. So for sports de-blur needs to be at zero and de-judder off or on doesn't seem to make much difference. Basically truemotion turned off seems to be the best option for all around viewing..Just IMO..

I purchased the 60ls5700 from Costco and, after updating software to latest version, I lost the home button and most of the application in the smart menus; including NetFlix. Has anyone else experienced this issue if, so, were you able to fix this problem. I've had the unit serviced twice by LG and have proved the issue to be software related to the newest release. The technician was unable to reload the previous version of code. Any ideas or suggestions other than returning the tv.

I have Software 04.12.23 and my home button works as does netflix.

Maybe try unpluging TV for a few minutes. Resetting Initial setting found in options and reinstalling software update? Besides that I don't know..

Thanks for your response. I have tried that and I have had the CPU Board replaced. Both CPU boards do the same thing. Bummer.

tezzmin, I really like your settings but on the other hand I also like the blacks and contrast with dynamic contrast turned on. When turned on, colors are not as they should be. Could you suggest some color settings for when dynamic contrast is turned on (on medium)? I'd really appreciate. Thanx!

Can anyone else confirm input lag on 480p content like Wii or Gamecube games? That's pretty disappointing, because I was starting to zero in on this TV, and this will probably have me look elsewhere. While I do plenty of gaming on my 360 and PC, I still play Wii/Gamecube/Virtual Console games. If the TV has trouble scaling up the 480p image, then I guess I'll go a different direction. It's a shame, because otherwise it sounds like a great TV. I like the extra couple inches over the 40" TVs I've seen from Samsung and Sony - the 42" is the magic number in my bedroom. Even the girlfriend thought that a 40" looked a little underwhelming, surprisingly.

I'll check it out and see what I can come up with..

Gamecube? Wow that's an oldie. I would hook my Wii up to check but it's such a pain since I have the TV wall mounted.

Well yeah, that's what I mean. I still have GameCube games that I play through the Wii, or Virtual Console games. There are plenty of great games that aren't in HD.

There was just another software update but I doubt it will help your situation...

Just checked and you are correct, the colors did get a bit jacked up with dynamic turned on. I will play around with it this weekend but once I adjust colors you may not notice a huge difference. Might just be going in a circle. I noticed for every setting turned on something needs tweeked and usually end up back to were I started. That's why in the end my settings aren't much different then out of the box.

Hey guys, just picked up a 60LS5750 from Costco the other night, in big part due to this thread. So thank you! I had my mind set on Samsung 6 series based on another forum (non AV related), but after looking at the Samungs and then seeing this LG set, I came home and Goggled LG's 5750 and found/read this thread. Went back to Costco and brought the LG home. Very glad I did . GREAT TV

Also, thank you VERY much Tezzmin for posting up the tuning #'s and changes, really appreciate it. Picture looks even better now biggrin.gif

Forgot to mention the price even dropped $100 in the last week! smile.gif

Awesome welcome to the thread. It is a great TV and with the price drop even better.

I am still using my very last settings posted with the only change I now have truemotion "off" all the time. I noticed de-blur at level 9 was no good for football viewing and turning off truemotion pretty much works for any type of viewing and doesn't create negative issues...

Doesn't seem to be on the Costco website -- how much was it?
It is on sale at Costco for $1199 till this coming Saturday (11/24). It must be just an in store deal, I also did not find it on their website. They also have a 30 day price guarantee so I am going to go back this weekend to see if it happens to be one of their Black Friday (which Costco's run till Sunday) deals.

ok, i have a 55lm6200, and am now trying to decide between the 42lm6200 and the 42ls5700 for my bedroom. i don't need 3d, so i am leaning toward the 5700. i am trying to find out if the aspect ratio options are the same. so can anyone tell me if the 5700 has an adjustable zoom option. according to the lg website the aspect ratio options for the 5700 include a cinema zoom, but not just a zoom. on the 6200 the zoom is adjustable, on my 2010 model samsung it is just a fixed zoom. the reason i'm so concerned with the zoom is because i have old school standard def analog cable and half my channels come in 4:3 format, and some in widescreen format. an adjustable zoom lets me split the difference between the 2 so i don't have to mess with changing it all the time.

I have an LG 55LM7600 there's Plex / Medialink on the TV, it has been able to play every DTS MKV I play... it's not even a dual core TV. I'm very happy with this unit.

I'm ready to purchase another LG TV with Plex / Medialink but don't need 3D.

Anyone with a LG 32" 32LM6200 or LG 42" 42LS5700 can confirm they've played many different DTS MKV's with their TV and there's no issues with playback?

I have a 42LS5700 that I purchased in September. In the past week, after about 5 minutes of turning the unit on, the screen will dim, go back to normal, dim again then go dark. The audio still sounds fine, but with no screen the only option I have is to power off.

It doesn't seem to make a difference which Input setting I'm using.

Can't find anything like this on any of the other forums or message boards. The LG Support is M-F. Thought I'd take a stab here and see if y'all had any advice.

the just scan is greyed out on my 6200, that may be because my cable comes in on coax and not hdmi. is the zoom adjustable on the 5700? on the 6200 when you select zoom it brings up a box with arrows to adjust how much you zoom in. on a 4500 model i looked at in a store a few days ago, when you select zoom, it just zooms in a preset amount and that is the only option for zoom.

I just checked for you. Zoom and Cinema Zoom 1 both give adjustments. It seemed Cinema Zoom 1 had a few more ways to adjust, up, down, or all 4 corners at once. My set has already updated twice and I don't remember set by program being in the menu before but could be wrong. Not sure how that works.

Hi guys! I have this LG 42LS5700-TB(india) TV. I have few doubts regarding the tv.
How to make the PVR function work? (Seriously waiting for an answer for this question)
If the US firmware software works for my tv too?(since mine is Indian version)?(if not, by means of any hacks?)
Is there any way that we could hack the firmware softwares to include or add few cool features?
I have few dvds which have the aspect ratio 4:3 and it doesn't occupy the maximum possible space on tv's screen. Appears too small. Tried everything to maximize it. No use.
And expert control(1 or 2) doesn't appear when i'm playing a video which is stored in my HDD.
Help out guys....

And by the way thanks a lot to tezzmin for his video settings ..
Movies on tv looks great now. But i feel worried about about the Trumotion feature that came up with latest firmware update here in India. While playing few videos(1080p) from my HDD ,with Trumotion feature enabled, there is this blur or kinda lag between the moving object(imagine a person dancing) and stationary background. It's ,sometimes, really distracting. And really worse when i play low resolution videos. .Do you guys experience the same ? Does even the high end tvs have same problem ??

I have a 47ls5700 and just purchased a Logitech K400 wireless keyboard to use with it. The problem is the keyboard only works with the internet search fuction and does not work with most apps, like facebook, HULU, etc. I bought this mainly for facebook as typing with the remote sucks. Has anyone else run into this or is there a way to get this keyboard to function with the apps?

Thanks

My final thoughts on this TV, now that I've had it for a while:

When it's good, it's very good. The picture quality can be amazing when everything is just right: sharp, crisp, and colorful. Unfortunately the channels aren't entirely consistent under a single setting. For instance: when I get a movie to look just right for my eyes other channels like news broadcasts can look pretty washed out. I do find myself messing with things like brightness and contrast often.

I still have the interlacing issue with the Comcast signal. Neither of my other TVs have it. It manifests itself in the form of occasional horizontal lines that run through objects, mostly in the background. To be fair - it's never happend with netfix or a Blue Ray or DVD (at least that I can recall). I don't remember it ever happening before the big update that added that awful truemotion; maybe as a last resort I'll try to reset the TV to factory settings someday.

The Smart TV software remains pretty glitchy for me, and the cursor on the magic remote has recently started drifting to the left, even when I hold it as steady as possible. I have no clue what could be causing this.

I bought this thing for $1500, and I have about $800 left to pay. I'm pretty sure it's destined for the main guest bedroom one day. I don't want to say that I'm unhappy, because I've had some great veiwing experiences on this set. But I don't think I'll go LG again in the future,

In a way I agree. Sometimes I love this TV and other times I feel the need to tweak it because I feel it can look better. I am still really happy with it overall though. It has so many adjustments compared to many other TV's in this price range it can be good and also bad if you are someone who can't leave things alone until you understand what affect each setting does. See my next post. I adjusted mine yet again!

It would be nice if the wifi could be turned off and on since I rarely use it as a smart TV. Only time I use it is to stream itunes from computer.

So I played around with settings using the color filters that come with Video Essentials instead of built in RBG color filters. I noted my changes from previous settings highlighted in "blue". I have old settings in expert 2 and new settings in expert 1 so I can compare the two while watching tv, pausing and comparing. I am now using new settings for a bit more "pop" and better skin tones. I am not saying to use them but I just post them for anyone who wants to try. I am happy with new settings for now.. lol

Can folks with 60" units preferably with warehouse version or regular retail confirm if Motion 120Hz feature can be completely turned off? Cannot stand the soap opera effect. Once it off how is the judder? Is TV handling 24Hz conversion correctly? Is it bothersome? Do you notice judder on regular movies, I know it can visible on sports but I am interested in movies.

Was anyone with Costco/Sams 60" set 60LS5750 able to receive and install firmware updates via Ethernet? LG.com does not even show this set in the firmware updates or any kind of downloads...

I have LG 60LS5750 (Costco), truemotion can be adjusted from 0-9 de-judder and 0-9 de-blur or completely shut off. With truemotion on I do notice judder in 24Hz but with it off I have no complaints. Also while viewing football de-blur turned on has a negetive effect IMO. de-judder doesn't seem to do much either. I personally notice no SOE with my settings.

This is what I do. Real Cinema ON and TrueMotion OFF for 5:5 pulldown on 24p sources. TrueMotion OFF and Real Cinema OFF for everything else. Works for me. I noticed I have pretty much every setting "OFF" on this set for the best results. That is all personal preference though..

As far as updates go. I also noticed LG's website is very frustrating. It's almost like they don't want to acknowledge they sell a 60" LS5700 (5750) because there is no support for it. I tried finding the newest firmware VIA website with no luck but the TV has done two updates in three months using "wifi" connection. = Ver.03.21.12 to Ver.04.02.85 to 04.20.18

Thank you so much for confirming. I am going to Costco this weekend to pick it up. I owned H40 series of LG and frankly it worked best with all features turned off, I am not surprised that this one does too. I love IPS and this set seems to deliver again with this gen of IPS.
