Samsung HL-S5686W from June 2006 here. Replaced the lamp about 4 months ago, but don't know how many hours I have on it. Bulb never died, but started getting a little dim, so I figured it was time to replace it after 6 years.

I scratched the screen the first month I had it, but you can't really notice it unless you know it's there. Otherwise not a single issue. Even moved from LA to NY without a hitch.

Really want one of the new 2012 Mits' though. Almost wish this one would die. wink.gif

Have a 2003 HLN617 DLP (61 inch). Replaced a bulb in 2008 and another one this month (every 5 years). They say they do not lose brightness... but the new bulb is much brighter. Had to rerun Video Essentials. Paid $5,000 for it from Tweeters. Glad to know it is still going!

Nice to see so many older DLPs in use, I have a HLN5065w1 that's still going strong on it's first bulb, guess I don't watch it enough. Good news is the bulbs are cheap now whenever I have to replace it. Purchased it in 04 right before the HLPs released.

In case someone still cares. I have a Samsung HL-P5085W 50" projection TV since 2004 is still on the same bulb and the TV works perfectly. We however, don't watch TV on this unit more than about a couple of hours per day during the week days and about 4 hours per day on weekends. Hope that helps.

Have the 2008 Samsung HL61A750. Just had to replace the blue LED in it, but it was only $90. Works like new again, not too shabby.

Got my HP md5880n in February 2006 and the only issue I've had is the bulbs, since HP bailed out of the business rather quickly and left us with only an aftermarket for them. Had it set up in my nice cool basement the whole time (most issues others have had seem to be related to heat), moved it to a new house only once, although I'm about to move it again. I've likely subjected it to lighter-than-usual usage over time. Gonna be sad when it goes on me, as I don't plan on chasing any more bulbs, but it's still going strong and I absolutely love the picture. Too bad my PS3 crapped out before the TV did!

I've been eyeing up the Panasonic plasmas in recent years, but it seems the end might be near for those as well...

I have a Mits WD-52631 purchased Black Friday 2006. It had the overheating problem in April 2007 fixed under warranty and trouble-free ever since. First bulb went at 3889 hours, second at 12592 (that was a good one), and the third at 16943. Current hours is 18380. I will run this thing until it dies.

It has a better picture than most of the 70 inch Sharps out there. I have thought about upgrading. However when I view the latest tvs I still think mine looks just as good if not better. The color wheel has hummed for a few years now. Hasn't affected the picture quality one bit. I got my money's worth.

Another HLS-6767W here, which I got in 2007. Love the way it has a big screen but hides the pixels. It's really just been a wonderful set...like a movie theater in a box.

My other screen is the GDM-F520 CRT on my computer.

Maybe next round...some day...front projection for my TV and OLED for the computer....

Got a Samsung HL72A650 in June 2009 for $1099. Yesterday the TV would not turn on and the LEDs on the front were blinking so I assumed the lamp had gone. Replaced the lamp with a Phillips (original lamp was Osram) but the set would still not turn on. Did a bit of research and taped the lamp cover switch which solved the problem. The new lamp is much brighter and seems to be sharper and have better color. New lamp cost $109 installed in the original housing.

2007 Mits 73733, upgraded to a 734 by changing electronics and adding to the light engine from a broken 57734 I found. Lamps @ $35 delivered all day long...I have extra parts to keep it going for a VERY long time! cool.gif
