Energy S10.3...one option for co-locating

Hello everyone. I just wanted to share how I set up my dual S10.3s.

Since there have been some really great sale prices on these things I figure there might be a large number of folks, like myself, with two of 'em.

I didn't have any type of gear to calibrate my subs separated throughout my room. So after some trial and error with multiple locations...I decided to stack them.

Since the S10.3 has two down firing ports, I had to unscrew and remove the feet (very simple), then stack them on their side.

The 4 total ports now aim to the side with both drivers facing forward. I also used a piece of no-slip fabric between them to help stabilize.

I've attached some photos as well. I realize this is nothing high tech, but maybe it can assist somebody trying to figure out what to do with theirs.

I have been very happy with the increase in output thus far!

Thanks smile.gif

Now you just need to add two more so you can have a line array sub eek.gif

You can stack them vertically with the feet on, the feet give enough clearance.

Wow those babies are gynormous. Im planning to get one for my room. I would of never thought to stack them but it could work. Im no expert but my first concern would be the top speaker eventually falling off from the vibration but then again each subwoofer weighs in around 34lbs. How do you like them so far? Are they good for music and movies?

i did consider that, but I wasn't sure if it would be a good idea for the top sub's ports to be firing down into the bottom one

The vibrations concerned me as well, so I placed a thin, rubbery, no-slip (can't think how else to describe it lol) piece of cloth between them. So its not going anwhere.

I listen to around 95% HT so I can only say they've been adequate for my limited non-critical music listening. But I really like em for movies. They wont blow you away, but for the $390 shipped I spent total, I'll be satisfied for a few years until I'm ready to drop a grand on an ID sub.
