Any way to turn off hover popups?

The popups whenever the cursor hits a link on the list of threads are extremely annoying. And even though I have avatars hidden they appear in the popups. I've been trying to kill the popups but no luck so far. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks for responding. Forcing users to adapt to a minefield is never a good thing. Best not to lay the minefield down in the first place.

I think I just found a fix by blocking commonjs.js. The popups are gone and the links still work. Might break other things though. Time will tell . . .
