I went with a Netgear WNDR3700 which is DLNA compliant (just need to add an external USB hard drive and enable the media server in the router config). All my devices including my 2 Yamahas communicate with it just fine. I also bought the router with the intention of installing one of the wrt flavors, but it has functioned fine out of the box so I left the unit stock.
Edit: I should note that because this method is USB based, data transfer is limited. I ended up installing a Linux EXT2 file system on the drive which improved transfer speeds about 40% vs NTFS. I was getting 8 MB/s on NTFS, with EXT2 it clocks at 14 MB/s. You can see that's not lightning fast, and you do have to upload music files to the drive so that's one of the drawbacks.
