Proper cable for sub woofer to receiver.

Thread Starter
I recently acquired an old Sony receiver (str de675). So far I only have two Numark MS 100a. I also have the subwoofer from a Logitech Z4 2.1 setup. The sub's input is a 1/8" TRS connecter and the receiver's sub input looks like an RCA input but is black. Is it possible to connect the 1/8" to this input? If so, can you please give me the product that I need to make this happen. Thank you very much in advance.

Even though the output jacks on the back of this receiver are RCA jacks, my interpretation of the user manual (page 14) is that they are actually for input to passive speakers.

The manual can be downloaded from http://www.docs.sony.com/release/STRDE675.PDF

The 1/8 input on your Logitech subwoofer are most likely for line level signals.

Further inspection of the Sony manual shows that there is a RCA jack for connection to the line level input on a subwoofer, and it could be connected to the Logitech using a standard 1/8" stereo to RCA cable.
