Buydig.com (Beach Camera, etc)biggrin.gif has a panny 500 for $289., no tax/free ship. BUT, I found this price on friday June 8 and by time I purchased on Monday, 11th the price on site was $327.
However, I phoned my order in and was able to get the $289. price. Shipping was to take a week (fedex) and I should get today (14th). This is a good deal I believe.

I like Panny quality, but reliability is another thing! I and firend of mine had Pannys and when was put certain BD's in them - they stopped playing BD's and would only play DVD's. For me, it was G.I. Joe: The Movie (cartoon), and for my friend it was a three pack with Twister, Poseidon and something else. My Panny was the second model BD player they came out with, the one with the SD card insert.

I have a Denon AVR3310CI 7.1-Channel 1.3a receiver which is not a 3d Receiver. But I do have a LG 3D TV. Can I use this Panasonic DMP-BDT-500 to connect to my receiver as well as to my TV for playing 3D movies? I know DMP-BDT-310 can do this. But can we achieve the same results with this? Also which one is better? 310 or 500? I am not seeing much of 310 anymore. Is there any specific reason?

Please help.

I have about the same setup (Denon 888 & Pany 3D) So
The DMP500 has 2 HDMI outputs run one to the receiver and another direct to the TV and with some fiddling you can get it to work. After the first time I got it to work right the receiver/TV just does it automatically now when I play a 3D disk. There were some 3D settings on the player that I had to change to get it right and the 500s owners manual is a bit nebulous in this department.

BTW good luck with the 500 remote for some functions the touch screen is OK - for others like entering text or accessing Netflix it has to be the biggest POS I have ever owned. Does some one know of a good universal remote that will run this deck?????????

the Panny has a world class upscaler. Provides pretty much unbeatable video quality even from DVD unless you pony up the OPPO money. Mine locked on a messed up network site. Just unplug it completely, let it sit, play a disc and then reconnect to the online and you are back in business.

The 500 is better. The 310 is a 2011 model and isn't made anymore. The 310 was the top of the line model at the time, but they've added even more high end features for the 500. I got lucky and picked up a 310 today for $60. If prices were similar I would definitely go with the 500. The 330 is supposed to be out soon and I believe will have 2 hdmi outputs again. The 320( 2012 model) only had one.

Can we keep this thread on topic for who has the best price for the BD 500?

The best price I am seeing for the BDT500 is at Amazon.com for $277.49.
I'm holding off for now becasue I think there is probably a better price than $277 somewhere out there.

I've been folowing the price of the bdt 500 for a while now and it just doesn't seem to budge one way or the other.

Panasonic EPP usually has the 500 on sale for about $240. Print out the page, bring to your local B&M and have them pricematch.

I did it at BB about 6 months ago, their policies were pretty good about pricematching, although I believe that's about to change come Monday March 3rd, 2013.

Good luck!

Finally found 1 open box in Central Texas BB but they could not find it when I called. They DID find a NEW 1 that wasn't in the computer inventory that they were happy to price match with Newegg. I found the open box 1 connected to 2 HDTVs. It looked real good but was missing the remote (like anyone wants it haha) and the manuals so if anyone wants it for 2 bills it could be a good deal. Like I said, it was clean, not scratched up and being used as an active display. Manager said he always keeps a new 1 in stock so he probably will order 1 to replace the new 1 I bought. @ N. Austin TX Magnolia store.

Do you have a link?
I think I found the site, but they want way more than the $240 you were speaking of.

Thanks in advance... smile.gif
