General Question About Samsung TV

Does anyone know if the Samsung TV (UN55D6420) is able to turn on via RS232? I know Samsung sells the adapter which is needed to allow the TV to be controlled via RS232. I want to be able to turn my TV on with my iPad and currently you cannot do that with the built in IP control. Is my best bet to just get the iTach device that allows control over IR?

You can turn it on via RS232, the only reason the App doesn't do it is because Samsung figures you'll do it via that ultra reliable HDMI interface they're so proud of.

I don't however think you can do it without some 3rd party control system interface... But not sure since I only use 3rd party control systems.
