Are there any 2 channel amps

Are there any 2 ch amps that have speaker level inputs or how bad does it harm the audio to use a converter. My receiver doesn't have preouts and I have just purchased towers and want to bi amp them.

What model of speakers are you planning to bi-amp?

Why not upgrade your AVR?

Most of the advantages of bi-amping can be had by using a single more powerful amp for each speaker assembly: most of the power is needed by the woofer. The power needed to drive tweeters and midrange drivers is miniscule in comparison.

Bi-amping is often needed when using tube amps -- then usually have limited power and limited bandwidth. It's not needed at all when using modern high-power, wide-bandwidth, solid-state amps.

I bought monitor 60's. I know they don't "need" biamping but getting a little more midbass kick without moving up the xover setting is what I'm after. Granted my speakers are still new but I have heard the 60's bi amped and it was a little bit of improvement. Unless I can find a good receiver in a couple months that will do them better for a good price. I am not to impressed with the musical quality of the avr-1612.

Thanks! I checked on one and it fits my requirements and the price isn't bad. Wen I finally upgrade my receiver it'll still work great!
