Loss of "Over The Air" capability with an ( Olevia 542i ) television

I corrected a problem of control lockup with the help of "Ratman" on this site.

Now, there is another issue with this television. At the time of locking up, I also lost the "Over The Air" capability.
Which has not returned at this time. Anyone have any thoughts on how to get it back. Thank you. John from Michigan.

P.S. Satellite reception through the "HDMI" connection works fine. smile.gif

Most likely your ATSC tuner went bad. You might be able to find an external tuner and get OTA channels that way.

I would always try the RESET TO FACTORY setting trick first, hey it's free. Don't ask me how. smile.gif

In regards to the loss of "Over The Air" broadcasts.

I found out that with this model, you will lose over the air, if you either select " factory settings," or
you select "show Room" through the power up mode. I had to re-select "home" through the power up
mode, then I had to do an "Auto Channel Search" for over the air broadcasts.
The biggest problem with this set is trying navigate to the location of "Auto Channel Search". This television,
even when you have the owner's user manual, leaves a lot to be desired.
I want to thank those who offered assistance.
John
