Which way is best for listening to Pandora

I first listened to Pandora via my network connection on a Denon 2112. The on screen display said bit rate was 128. I then ugraded my acccount to Pandora One and the bitrate on the display stayed the same and I didn't hear any improvement in quality. Then I discovered Pandora was an extra on my DirecTv DVR and using it definitely sounded better than getting the stream from my network. Does anyone have an explanation for this. I can't find any bit rate info for Pandora via DTV. BTW I was very impressed with Pandora via my DTV and Marantz 8003 using the M-DAX I have been resisting mpg and streaming for years but after hearing it am now very happy there is a way for me to hear new music and actually enjoy listening to it.

Pandora One only upgrades the streaming quality to a PC.

Yes, of course.
