I'm using an iTack IP2Serial gateway, configured for 9600 baud, 8N1 format, no handshaking.
I plugged it into the DB9 port in the top of the back, using a null modem cable.
I can't seem to get the receiver to pay attention to any commands, including the "POWER ON" command and the "REQUEST STATUS" command that are supposed to work in standby mode.
I checked out the signals coming out of the DB9 null modem cable using a logic analyzer, and they seem like legit RS-232 serial signals.
Is there something I'm missing here? Do I need a non-standard (non-null-modem) cable? Do I need hardware handshaking? Do I need to perform some magic incantation on the receiver to make it pay attention?
