Does dual channel matter when dealing with a HTPC? I can get 2gb x 2 for like $2 more but does it really matter?

Dual channel is about a 2-3% increase in benchmark scores. Not noticeable in real life usage for htpc. With that said I recommend dual channel because it is usually the same price or even less.

If you are interested in iGPU (Llano, Intel HD 4k) + madVR, single channel memory seriously harms the video playback.
