Windows 7 Nvidia Based HTPC + Epson 5010 projector Calibration

I know a lot of people may not have this combo of hardware, but the calibration is driving me INSANE! According to color management(windows 7 calibration software), my gamma is WAY too high, setting it all the way to the lowest point still yields a semi high result. I have to decrease the brightness by 2 clicks, but now everything is Way too dark(but at least the blacks are miles better than before, in which the blacks were pretty much grey). Increasing the brightness gives me grey everything.

I had this problem with my old AE2000 projector as well, and always though it was a lumens problem(or lack of lumens), but now the Epson is producing 800 lumens in cinema mode(running this on a 135 inch screen 13 ft away in normal power consumption mode).

I have also increased the gamma of the projector to 2.0, which helps a little..now I'm out of ideas.

Basically, if I have gamma blasting, I have grey blacks, if I have gamma on low..I'll end up with inky blacks but ridiculously dark scenes(in which it's hard to see anything).

Guess I'll resurrect this thread as I'm having similar confusion with a similar setup + 5030UB. Anyone have any suggestions or link to a step by step guide? smile.gif
