The Pyles Speakers Any Good?

need some advice on these
just wondering if these provide good bass without being overly bright from the horn? i plan to use them for my weekly tailgating outing at local park, playing music from iPod/XM and for watching DVD movies. a PA is usually good for the vocal range, but i am wanting something that is full range and can give some oooomf down low for music and movies, etc.

You must be planning on getting to know the local PD. 500 watts is a lot of power. Especially for "tailgating". Hope you plan on having some way to power the amp that you will need to power them.

No. Pyle is cheap junk. A decent speaker of this type will cost at least twice what these do.

i am buying Pyle multi-featured amp PWMA3003T

power will come from one of two sources, either the park allows me to use extension cord to an outlet, or, i have part #'s of what i need to build battery powered setup (4 marine batteries for 48vdc, and a 48vdc to 220vac 3000watt continuous pure sine wave inverter).

i dont plan to use max volume all the time.

Bill, its hard to get good info on these Pyle speakers. many reviews online that are good reviews, then i see posts like yours. yes, at just $92 per unit it does seem cheap, but would they serve the purpose?

what about this Behringer EUROLIVE B215XL??

if you don;t like them return it. I had a friend whos dad owned a car audio store. He had pyle subs in his room in a speaker box with the mid range and tweeter for a little bit. For a cheap speaker it sounded good to me for rap. A lot of people say that the pyle amps are junk and catch on fire. The speaker sounded fine to me. I never heard a pyle dj speaker though. it should be fine.

You're looking at what's mainly used by DJs. You can get opinions about DJ gear here:

When Pyle makes a good speaker it will be the first!

Pyle doesn't 'make' anything. Once upon a time they had a factory, made drivers, but for many years they've only been a marketing operation, sourcing everything. And they pretty much source it all from the lowest bidder, so the quality factor is non-existent.

"Steaming Pyle" comes to mind
