Elmos? One of the worst steak houses I ever tried and I tried it twice. It was truly awful.

Tried it twice. First time was rough but the second was redeeming.

How is Shula's?

Ask Ken, he lives there.

Do not go to Shula's, unless it's merely drinks and appetizers. Poorly ran, poorly staffed.

I'd recommend Mo's, Harry and Izzy's would likely be fine, as is the superb, Capital Grille at the Conrad.

St Elmo's is an institution,.... been many times, over 25 years, only one marginal experience.

Best of luck

Read this thread. It has the answer to your concern. Back just a little ways.

Cap Grill is awesome too. The Boston location was off the chain!

I've been planning to go (already registered) but may have to cancel and have to read all your reports.    Really do enjoy CEDIA and seeing all you guys, though since I got a Sony1000 it will probably be a few yrs before I'm seriously in the market for something.

My first CEDIA was several yrs ago, the last time it was in Denver, when the RS20 was introduced (and I would up getting on AVS' prebuy offer).   Then was a Atlanta a couple of times, and only once in Indy (last year).    I'm glad that they're heading back to Denver after this year!

I am in the same boat except for the Sony.wink.gif My father is having a knee replaced, which I may have to help him with. The bigger issues for me that may keep me away though is a big project for the Fontainebleau hotel. I was there till 2 AM last night and that looks like it may be the rule rather than the exception for awhile. Hopefully I can finish the project before Sep.

FYI for those hobbyists wanting to attended CEDIA this year year, the companies with display booths at CEDIA are able to offer codes for free guess passes to attend the trade floor at CEDIA.

Just Google: "CEDIA Expo 2012" coupon code -- and somewhere on the first page or two of results you should be able to find the a code that can then be entered near the bottom of the CEDIA resigistration form - HERE (you can register as a non-member).

Also I have a request for those planning on attending CEDIA this year - some projector manufacturers, including BenQ and Optoma, do not have their own booth at CEDIA 2012 (and they didn't last year). However, a new projector or two from these manufacturers may show up at someone elses booth. This could be an AV distributor representing several product brands, a screen manufacturer, etc. If any of you hear about any projector manufacturer, without their own booth, showing a new home theater model at someone elses booth, please post that info on the thread I've started on the $3K+ projector forum - HERE

I hope to see the other AVS Forum members attending CEDIA at an AVS evening event.

Being an old man, I have developed considerable expertise in getting my old lady off.

So Mark, are you guys going to do a booth in lieu of a party this year? Will "AV Science" and "AVS Forum" do different things?
I plan to go this year just to put a face to some of the names I have been talking with here on the forums. I am only 1 1/2 hour away and will most likely come up during the day on Thursday or Friday.

Plans are being formulated now. Traditionally there has been an official forum party plus several get together dinners organized by me and others but not really an official forum event. I will be organizing dinners at Cedia but this really has nothing to do with my employment by AV Science now or with the forum directly. Anybody can join us for these dinners. They are more like annual reunions of AV Science friends but every year new people show up for the first time.

I suspect AV Science will have a presence at one of our manufacturer's booths, to meet and greet, see old customers, make new ones, and maybe hand out some free goodies. When plans are finalized they will be announced.

Hey Dan

Maybe we could reprogram the Bland's GPS to finally get him over to Chicago on his way back from CEDIA ...................

Or we can just take him hostage and bring him back with us in the trunk.
