Denon 2309 hdmi question

Thread Starter
I have a 2309 that I run all my sources through into a Samsung DLP RP 67A750 via hdmi. I know there are hdmi handshake issues and just assumed this was normal, but figured I'd check to see if there are any settings I might have wrong that exacerbate this problem. If my TV is off, I get no sound from my Denon DVD 2930; I have to disconnect the hdmi cable from the TV. This even affects the tuner; w/ TV off, the tuner will have sound for a second or two, lose it for a second or two and keep cycling like this. Turn on the TV or disconnect hdmi cable and it's fine. No problem using my CD player (optical connection) or my sacd player (5.1 analog) w/ TV off.

Anyone have any ideas about this? Anyone with a 2309 have the same issues?

Try the HDMI HDCP reset suggested here ---> http://www.avsforum.com/t/1334369/the-official-denon-avr-xx12-model-owners-thread/0_50#user_L11

Another option is placing an HDMI switch or splitter between the AVR and the TV.
