Wireless Cable TV Extender questions

Thread Starter
Quick background: My dad wants to put a small TV in a room that is not wired for cable. He wanted me to research options for a wireless connection to his cable.

He has a comcast HDTV cable box about 20 feet from where this new TV is going to go. What are the options for making this work?

Would any of these do the trick? Any recommendations? Keeping in mind that I want to be able to keep the main TV hooked up to the cable box AND have the transmitter hooked up as well. Would some sort of HDMI splitter be required?

My other suggestion to him was to get an iPad and a sling box, but that is a spendy proposition.

Either of the first 2 you listed should do just fine. If it doesn't have to be HD, you could get away with spending even less.

I'm using the Actiontec with DirecTV and it works great (no line of sight required). Check out some of the reviews at Best Buy and Amazon though....it seems there may be compatibility issues with this device and Comcast cable boxes.

How much does this one cost? http://rflinkusa.com/products_WHD5001.html

Thanks only place I didn't look, where I usually go first oddly. Knew it would be pricey
