I have just bought an Onkyo 515 ... and I am having some issues. Did the setup okay, all 7 channels read and respond fine. However, when playing a blu ray I am getting a strange surround sound where all sound comes out of all speakers ... instead of decoding it as DTS 5.1 or 7.1 or whatever. Very frustrating as it sounds fake, with the same speech coming from in front and behind speakers for example. I am new to world of home cinema separates, having had a home theatre in a box set up before. This is tough for me to work out! I went into the settings where you can change listening mode presets and changed these from "all channels stereo" to "straight decode" for movies. This made no difference. There is also a pure audio option or direct option, among others. All I really want is no DSP, just for the signal from the Blu Ray to be decoded as is. Please help me with the settings I need throughout to get it sounding correct! Right now, there is no sound channel separation and it sounds terrible. I would just like to hear the movies as coded on the disc, and hear music in 2 channel. Any help to clear this up and suggest the correct settings would be appreciated. Regards, Rob.
