Hi, i am currently trying to build a $300 htpc. I have seen 2 models which seem like they would do the work i need in another post.
Intel Solution:
Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor G630 2.7GHz 3MB LGA1155 CPU
ASRock H61M/U3S3 LGA 1155 Intel H61 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Amd Solution:
AMD A4-3400 Llano 2.7GHz Socket FM1 65W Dual-Core
ASRock A55M-HVS FM1 AMD A55 (Hudson D2) HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Issues
I need a MINI ITX solution, so i will be exchanging those Motherboards for a similar miniitx form factor. My main problem has been finding a case and psu.
How many watts would a system like this need? i would plan on connecting maybe a usb hd dvb-t tuner, no cd/dvd, 2.5 or 3.5 normal hdd (not ssd). Most cases come with sub 120W psu, which according to what i read before, is not enough for any htpc, tho i may be mistaken.
I have seen some cases that say 120watts DC to DC + Adaptor... What exactly is this? would this really be enough for the systems i mention?
other mention pico psu compatible, i dont know much about picopsus, but could they possible provide enough power for one of the systems i mention?
thanks for reading! please help!
