Popcornhour A300 help

Thread Starter
First, I'm very sorry if this has been asked already, I tried searching and I'm overwhelmed by information that I can't use.

I hooked up my popcornhour A300 a little bit earlier today and so far its not bad. I got the 32GB USB to work. 3.5 HDD is a no go because its not a SATA so I will get some HDD later on when I have some money.

Right now my issue is that I cant stream media from my PC to the A300. I am able to detect the PC with the A300, but I cant access anything. I put in my username and password (I am admin) and it says invalid ID/PASS.
What do I do?
I looked through the manual thats online and its no help to me. Just says this is where you enter your username and password...

PS - Im wired through ethernet.

Anyone out there that can help me?
Thanks.

Did you followed this wiki? I followed this wiki when I used to own a PCH-A300 and it worked for me. Try uninstalling Windows Live Essential I believe first!

If that doesn't work, you can try this after:

And when I try setup wizard. It says "Network error. Unable to connect to the internet.

Turns out it needed a firmware update. Even though I checked that earlier. I had to unplug everything from the unit then check again. Working fine again.

I dont know anything about that home Automation apps, but everything on the A300 can be controlled over IP, there is a raw port on 30000 that can accept remote control commands then there is the API interface that will take http requests and output xml responses that can invoke playback as well as other things.

Thanks ... I'll see if I can incorporate the automation into applescripts that can be sent via IP.

OK ... that problem solved. Now I am trying to be able to control everything using my Pebble Smartwatch and am stumped. I am trying to configure an applescript to send a command to the A300 over IP when it receives an email with a specific subject header from the Pebble watch, but am have problems with the script. Will try Automator next ...
