Taken 2?
A sequel??
Lemme guess...she is re-taken?rolleyes.gif

Man....if they're gonna make it then why call it "Taken 2"? That's so cheezy! Aside from him getting back in "the business" as some kind of kidnapping rescuer, hard to see a good script on this one with his daughter being....re-taken. Having said that, the first was so good, though I wasn't crazy about the ending, I almost feel like I have to go see this one.

Really....Taken 2?! Come on Liam! You got more pull than that!

Liam needs to take a few years off and work on his tan.

Taken 2: The Cleaners!

Come on guys, don't talk about Qui Gon like that. This film has promise because if you saw the first one you know that he was Taken Care of Business. See what I did there?biggrin.gif

I was hoping this would be more like a prequel (lol, even tho I kind of hate the trend of those...) and see him doing what he does ...you know, before his daughter was taken. Now she's just taken again. Wheeeewwww! Actually, I'm still going to see this. Better be rated R this time, for real.

cool.gif i wouldn't mind seeing this.

I don't get it. Liam's ex-wife is "taken", so he really doesn't need to do anything.

So in Taken 3 the Arabs are going to seek revenge?

Then in Taken 4 Granted the movie goers will seek revenge.

I'll go since I am curious to see how Kim's singing career is going.

The tagline for the fourth movie will be: This time the wrong guy was taken.

Nope. It'll be his iphone. He'll go through all the normal screen theatrics and at the end his daughter (who wasn't taken this time) will tell him that he could have just used his find my phone app.

What a creative plot! rolleyes.gif

I actually wouldn't mind seeing Liam kick more ass if the filmmakers were willing to have fun with it and make it a deliberate parody. I want to see bone breaking through skin, brain spatter, eyeballs being plucked out, someone's arms get switched with their legs, arterial spray from carotid slashes... biggrin.gif

It's already been done and it was called The Man From Nowhere... I'm surprised the bankrupt Hollywood think tank hasn't already remade that.

Man from Nowhere was inspired by Taken and the Professional. FYI, Dimension already has the rights for a remake of MFN.

+1. I enjoyed Taken.

Taken was a sleeper hit, and a very nice 'turn your brain off at the door and enjoy' action film. It's one of my favourite blu-rays with a high replay value and kick-ass, bombastic sound track. Definitely looking forward to this one. smile.gif

I liked it when Liam shot the wife of the corrupt agent in the arm. Usually, pg13 would wuss out and just threaten the lady, so it was kind of shocking.

I hope the 2nd is as harsh.

Agreed. But early Tomatometer reviews have not been kind.

Now that I think about it.......

For the most part I really liked Taken but every time I see it on tv or referenced somewhere I get this unsatisfied feeling about it. That's because the one thing I didn't like was how it ended as it just didn't seem to work. But perhaps there was already a concept in the works for a sequel during production. Perhaps there was already a second story/novel?

When the original Taken hit theaters, I heard one radio reviewer talk about the group of guys that Liam's character momentarily interacts with. His old crew.

The radio reviewer (who wasn't impressed with Taken) said, "I want to see a movie about those guys."

When I heard that Taken 2 was in development, I really hoped it would deal more with the backstory of Liam's badassery and not just rehash the first one.

As did I. He obviously has a special set of skills, would have been nice to see how he got them or honed them. And IMO this was not an unintelligent script so I figure they had to develop a pretty good backstory in pre-production.

FYI: currently 11% @ rottentomatoes. FWIW the trailers looks better than the 1st one so who knows

I'll still watch it when it hits blu ray. I hope it's good as the first.
