What is a guy from Anaheim Ca doing on a NY OTA forum?

Thanks for the 1WTC info.

If it is impacting me it should be impacting more people. By the way the WTC is way southeast of me. It should be impacting some of our OTA people in Monmouth county and parts southwest of NYcity. I'm more west northwest of the ESB and even more northwest of 1WTC.

Who remembers the old days when atmospheric conditions would cause that annoying "venetian blinds" effect on certain channels (esp. along the East Coast)? That was because TV signals bounced beyond their local area and interferred with distant stations which shared their spectrum and viewers saw the mixture on their analog sets. Modern digital receivers have sophisticated microprocessors to decode the TV signal, but under certain circumstances (i.e., atmospheric conditions, multipath, overload) they're overwhelmed with extra bits. The microprocessor reaches its limit and simply gives up, indicating "weak signal" on the screen.

You're welcome.

A Google search shows somebody else in New Jersey also has a reception problem.

Presumably the same thing an engineer from Virginia who currently lives and works in Tennessee is doing there. smile.gif
