Please help! Which of these speakers are better/stronger?

I have two Sony acoustic suspension SS-U651AV 8ohms 240 watt tower speakers and two Yamaha NS-6490 8 ohms 140 watt speakers.

My purpose is to use these at my college apartment next year, which set would be the best fit? Thanks

Can't you just plug them into something, give a listen and come to a conclusion in about 2 minutes?
