Yes, the sound is excellent, and the picture razor sharp. Could make out the Buffet logo on the first clarinet!
But I really liked the slower pacing of the video switching in the Perlman concerto much better than Billy the Kid, which was frenetic and annoyingly distracting. C'mon, it's a concert, not a 30-sec commercial. I don't need to see every valve being pushed up close and personal. That's what HD video is for -- pull back and let us see the ensemble interact.
Unfortunately, this is a common characteristic of SFS productions. I guess that's one way to get me back into Davies, but the trek has increased from 30 to 500 miles now that I live in Oregon.
Next time I watch it, the video will be off.
