Looking for Replay 50xx

Thread Starter
My replaytv 5000 just died. I suspect the power supply. Times are tough, so am looking to replace it as inexpensively as possible.

I noticed a few threads where users are donating their replaytv, to "good homes". Anyone want to send me one? I will pay shipping of course.

I know some are for sale on ebay, but thought I would try here first

thanks all for your support to this great product

I have 5 of them, all in working condition with upgraded hard drives. One even has a 500gb drive.

Not looking to give them away though...

Do you own, and know how to use, a multimeter?

If yes, take a look at my FAQ "Before You Ask..." at the top of the page, GOOGLE (or maybe I already have LINKs to) ReplayTVUpgrade and MikeyBoy's sites. There are 'Easy-to-Follow' instructions WITH PICTURES on how to test your Power Supply (voltages and pins), whether or not some electrolytic capacitors have failed, whether or not the cable between the P/S and the motherboard has burnt connectors, whether or not some screws are loose (*BESIDES* those rattling around inside my head! biggrin.gif ) and you've lost the ground connection, if the HDD needs to be re-imaged, etc, etc, etc...

  1. Why do you suspect the Power Supply?
    .
  2. What troubleshooting have you done thus far?
    .
  3. What is your 'Skill Level'?
    .
  4. Do you know how to solder?
    .
  5. Yada, Yada, Yada... wink.gif
