My subwoofer is killing insects, is this normal???

Ok this is the 5th time this has happened in just a few months. Far too much to be a coincidence.
Basically, they crawl in and then when I get home, I don't notice it and I fire up the sub and it KO's them dead. It sounds like voice coil rub, and then I walk over and see this.

Tell me a similar story if you have one.

The LMS is claiming souls now. The thing is powered by souls!!! tongue.gif

I made a higher tuned subwoofer using a 10" old JL car sub a few years ago in my garage. Basically I was going to see just how loud it could get before something bad happened. I saw 3 spiders come out from their hiding place, curl up and die. Seriously. One dropped down from the rafters and didn't make it to the floor before it was dead.....still hanging from his web. Thought it was strange. I'm sure there was even more because it was mu garage, but I didn't look.

I don't think it's unusual though.

Spiders do not like my tapped horns. They just get done building a web in them, and then I come along and watch a 5 star bass movie.

Gotta make an example of the first ones so the next one won't settle in. biggrin.gif

While I have plenty of spiders in and around the house, no particular carnage noted near the main sub (which is sealed but haven't checked the ported subs lately) Have found dead bugs near my main sub, but they're more likely the victims of spiders. Now if they'd kill or keep at bay the rodents...I've tried and doesn't seem to even bother 'em. I've got a squirrel scratching on the roof right now and major bass isn't even fazing him. Found this with a quick google, so maybe it's sensory overload http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/80beats/2011/12/15/study-each-hair-on-a-spiders-body-is-an-ear/

This one pooped his pants. The second since my last post in this thread. They aren't quick learners are they? biggrin.gif
