I have 1 Mythos Three Center, 2 Mythos One Mains, And 2 Mythos Two Surrounds. I will be buying 2 more Mythos two to do a 7.2 setup as I already have 2 supercube III's. the question here is what receiver will/should I get to power the system to its potential. I have been looking at the denon 3313/3312 and the pioneer sc-61. I also have a chance to get an open box Onkyo TX-NR809 for 300 right now open box at best buy. I am open to suggestions. the fiances allow to to spend around 1000 at the moment. But im not rich so if i can save money and get something that will do the same thing for cheaper im all about that. let me know what you guys think. thank you for your time and help.

As long as that 809 wasn't mfr'd during the recall months (Dec 2011-Feb 2012), I'd say that 809 at that price would be your best bet as it is most comparable to the 3312CI.

Thank you for the reply I will have to check it out and see when it was manufactured. but the more i keep reading the more and more i lean towards the Denon 3313/3312 probably will go with the 3312 to save about 400ish bucks since its on clearance. going to pull the trigger on friday. so if there is any other options out there i would love to hear them. thank you guys.

I think I am going to go with the 3312 as its on clearance and I don't think the 3313 has all that more for the extra money. Please correct me if im wrong and should buy the new one or something else in the price range of like 1100 1200. Thanks.

Stretch another $100 and check out the Denon 4311 It would be a nice fit for your
speakers.

I would save the money and go with the 3312 unless you can spring for the 4311. I picked up a 3311 on clearance around this time last year and it has been great. I don’t see anything on the 3313 that would make me want to upgrade. I would rather upgrade to the 4311 since it has XT32 but I am still very happy with the 3311.

So the 4311. isn't that a 2010 model. I mean it came out in 2010 didnt it? it still has the same or better features then the 3312/13? i am going to have to google up this xt32 you speak of. The 4311 is still running for 1600 online. the 3312 is 750 and the 3313 is 1200. irwinroad where did you see it for 100 more bucks? for a $100 more i would spend that for the 140watt a channel vs 125. the 9.2 side of it will be a waste i wont ever use more than 7.2 i think. lol. so what else would the 4311 do over the 3312/13? besides the xt32 which would I hear A differences from over the XT the 3312/12 come with?

Edit no need to tell me the differences i found the comparison thread about these two units.

looks like i am getting the avr-4311ci and the PRO-60X5FD. came across a sweet deal for the two. open box items. 4300 total price. what do you guys think should i go pick it up right away?

The 4311 was released in 2010 but not much has come out since then that the 4311 doesn't have. All I can really think of is NeoX and 4K upscaling. If you are only doing 7 channels then the NeoX is not something I would worry about. 4K projectors are pretty expensive right now and I have no idea when the TVs will be out or how much they will cost. I don't think 4K is something I would worry about anytime soon. See the thread above and call EE and see what the cheapest price you can get it for.

XT32 has higher resolution for all channels that XT. Also it has the ability to set the distance and levels of 2 subs separately and then add them back together for the EQ process. Since you are going to have 2 subs this would be an advantage of having XT32 over the XT in the 3312/3313.
