Convert old VHS tapes

Thread Starter
Hi, I've been looking around and can't seem to find a good piece of software to convert VHS to digital. I have some old home movies I would like to convert using my Hauppauge 2250 card. Any suggestions for good software? Free is better, but I wouldn't mind buying some if it's easier and/ or better quality.

Thanks.

You'll probably get a bazillion suggestions, so let me be the first smile.gif

VirtualVCR, an old freeware tool (did some successful captures on Win2K and XP Pro).

I use WinTV to record when I want to record from my Hauppauges. It's what was written to work with them...

100 answers? I doubt it... I used Pinnacle 9 before and it works with my ATI/AMD tuner/capture card. Not sure if you can find it at Target anymore, but that's where I got mine. Does much more than that, but I used it mostly to capture video and put it on then Google Video. You can also use Windows Live Movie Maker I'm positive you can capture with it.
