Does anyone know if this problem could be a bad Lamp problem, or possibly the dreaded Optical Block problem?

So are you saying that this problem is the light engine, and not the optical block?

For purposes of this thread, light block = optical block = light engine = optical engine.

Some techs might consider the light block and the optical block as a smaller set of parts that go into the light engine or optical engine.
