For Sale:
52" Armagard Weatherproof LCD Enclosure
Will Ship To: Nowhere -- local only
I'm sorry if this isn't the right area to post this classified, but the "this or that" section specifically stated "not A/V" and I saw some screens in here so I thought it was kosher. I just put this thing up on the Chicago Craigslist (where I live). I would consider shipping it, but I just don't think it'll be worth it for either of us. Below is the link to the craigslist post and a copy/paste of its body. But in summary its a 52" outdoor LCD enclosure for watching TV outside. In all honesty, If you have the money I would get a Signature series Sunbrite (I bot a 46" one to replace this one for 3k all in) but for 1/6th the price and a little bit of work (see below for details) you can buy this enclosure and enjoy the awesomeness of TV outdoors.

For Sale: One (1) 52" Armagard Weatherproof LCD Enclosure. This is the official company product page: http://www.armagard.co.uk/lcd-enclosure/lcd-enclosure.html
Ever wanted to watch TV outside? Me too, that's why I bought this enclosure. This enclosure will protect any LCD TV up to 52" in size from water, bugs and temperatures up to 110deg Fahrenheit (inside temperature-regulated by a sensor and fans). You screw mounting arms (the same as you do when mounting a TV to a wall indoors) to the back of whatever TV you want to put in it, then 'hang' the TV on the back of the inside of the enclosure, then just hard-wire the enclosure's power cord and you're watching TV outside. The TV has an internal, grounded power strip for powering the TV and/or including a small component (like a small form factor computer/net-top) inside the box. I ran a long HDMI cable into the enclosure from a Receiver I had controlling the rest of the components located inside, but you could also just use a simple $10 HD Antenna.
Full Disclosure: I stupidly left this thing outside during the winter wrapped in all-weather plastic (without a TV inside) and when I unwrapped it this spring there were white streaks on the shatterproof plastic 'window' that you view the TV through (see the last pic). I contacted Armagard and they sent me a replacement screen (the second to last pic), but I decided to go with a separate option rather than wait for the new screen to arrive (and then install it). The new screen has NOT been installed, it is still in the shipping crate it arrived it with all hardware and installation instructions.
I paid $1834.68 for this Enclosure on Mar 30 2010 (CC receipt WITH the additional $55 foreign transaction fee furnished upon request). I'm only asking just over 25% of what I paid for this just over a year ago. In all honestly I didn't want to wait for the new screen to arrive from England and didn't want to install it (so I didn't) and this year Sunbrite (http://store.sunbritetv.com/c-6-televisions.aspx) released a new consumer line of TV's (the Signature series) that are much cheaper than the previous 'Pro' line. So I bought a 46" outdoor TV for 3k. That wasn't available when I bought this enclosure and, to be perfectly honest, is a much better option if you have the money, but for 1/6th the price you can have this enclosure.
I must repeat this enclosure does not include a TV, but if you have an LCD lying around, this presents a VERY affordable alternative to enjoying outdoor TV.
Email me if interested, I'll entertain offers for trade as well
edit: Can't seem to get photos to work, if you follow the craigslist post you will see some pics, or DM me and I'll email them over.
