I bought into the hype a while back and Fry's is always happy to help. The PC is a i3 with 6GB of RAM... plain Jane Dell. I use it 96% of the time for WMC (4 tuners via HDHomeRuns) and the rest XBMC. I cloned the existing drive C (1TB) and the SSD felt a little snappier booting but afterwards I didn't notice any real difference. Not enough that my experience changed. As I would have to use the larger drive for recordings (anyway) I punted. Since I had zero performance issues prior the SSD would have had to really make a difference.

Yes a true dedicated SSD is faster/better.

If your happy I wouldn't worry much.

If your not at least a good 120+ SSS is under 100$ and you can save retain your Seagate as a really fast and nice storage drive.

After you installed to SSD just install that drive as a storage drive and delete the windows files\folders/users... to free up that room.

It's not so much I'm happy, but not at all unhappy with the improvement I did get, and I wasn't that unhappy with the regular drive (but I was unhappy when WMC menus took a long time). The old drive was mainly replaced because it started making strange noises.

Right now if I bought another SSD it would go into the wife's laptop, because I'm a good husband.

Not to mention, replacing our TV has higher priority.
