MPC-HC key mapping

I was using the 'keys' option within MPC-HC to map MPC-HC commands to my Harmony remote. Works really well. Select the function (play, pause, stop, etc.) hit the desired key on your Harmony remote and then that key will start the desired function while viewing a video in MPC-HC.

However, it didn't seem to work for a few commands, namely stats, control+j. Tried a number of different keys and while they would map in the options menu they would not bring up stats in practice. Any idea why? I could potentially go into my Harmony remote setup and create a sequence for control+j but wonder if there is a way to just map that function the same as I was doing the others.

Are you able to pull up stats with the keyboard?

If I right click to bring up the MPC-HC menu the stats section is grayed out using MadVR as the video renderer.

What does CNTRL J do? Bring up the MPC-HC menu?

I am able to pull up stats with a keyboard using ctrl+j. It brings up all the video playback, codec, rendering type information while using MPC-HC and madVR. I'm trying to set up my Harmony remote so I don't have to use a keyboard at all.

Good to know.

Is CNTRL J a key combo in the MCE command set in the Harmony? Maybe re-map MPC-HC to a different keyboard or mouse input. I had to use ALT 8 and ALT9 for next and previous audio in MPC-HC key mapping to utilize it in my H900.

Sammy, I'm trying to make the changes within MPC-HC options as it worked for all the other MPC-HC commands. Thats the ideal scenario for me before I reconfigure my Harmony remote. Main reason is that I use the same keys for XBMC as well and would like for all funcitons, i.e. play, rewind, exit, codec, etc. to use the same key and bring up the similar function regardless if I watching a video in MPC-HC or XBMC.

By the way next and previous audio worked perfectly by just doing the MPC-HC keyboard mapping for me.

I understand that. I could have done that with the colored buttons on the H900 but they were already being used for subtitle control. I just needed to re-map because of how other keys are set up on my remote. You may need to change both the mapping in MPC-HC and re-program the Harmony (One, isn't it?).

For some reason, which I am trying to determine, MPC-HC doesn't like a remapping of the stats function "ctrl+j" to any key. I've tried many. It's OK with remapping most everything else to whatever key you wish to press on your remote. Just not stats and 'ctrl+j' which is a mystery to me.

Worse case I can add a ctrl+j sequence to my harmony, but right now I'm trying to not re-program the remote.

BTW, have both a Harmony One and 880. Doing it with the 880 at the moment.

My H 900 is great for the equipment stashed away out of sight in a cabinet because it is RF but it doesn't support macros/sequences. Fortunatelly I have an 880 to program macros and then teach the 900. The One does the macros I think.

I'm glad you brought this up. Having CNTRL J on my remote would be nice as occasionally (not as much any more) I want to see the stats.

I can't comment on using a harmony to map keys since I mostly use touch screens, but you could always install EventGhost to intercept the IR command from your harmony which will then emulate any keyboard shortcut you want - it works for me.
