What service did they deliver it with, USPS, UPS, or FedEx? My delivery date was 3 days ago, was your delivery on time? Thanks.

I think it was Royal Mail. It was in the mailbox. It was on time somewhere in the middle of the dates.

Thanks! They did ship it Royal mail but I thought it would have an american deliverer once it got to the U.S.. Must be the postal service so I'll just wait for now, the storm may have delayed it.

The separate release of this showed up at BB this week for $16.99 (currently $14.99 on Amazon). Maybe I'll finally have a reason to upgrade to a 3D display. smile.gif

Modern technology is truly amazing biggrin.gif Perhaps you knew my grandpa, he too walked barefoot to and from school 5 miles each day.

Edit: Just kidding around. I didn't intend this as an attack.

Don't forget to point out it was uphill both ways.

No worries ferl. smile.gif  No idea when I'll be gettin a 3D display yet, but I thought some here might appreciate a heads-up on this.

I do look forward to seein CFTBL (and It Came from Outer Space) in 3D at some point though. The Creature and Mummy flicks were among my favorite Uni horror pictures.

Are there plans to release a 3D-BD of ROTC as well?

Cover art for the new 2013 standalone release comes from an original circa 1954 theatrical poster designed by Reynold Brown, btw.

Hi-rez version

In addition to the three Creature films, Brown designed a variety of other famous posters including Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, Masque of the Red Death, and Ben-Hur.  Here's the first part of a 1994 documentary on his work called: "The Man Who Drew Bug-Eyed Monsters".

While there are currently no announced plans for REVENGE OF THE CREATURE to be released on 3-D Bluray, it will be showing on the silver screen again at the Third World 3-D Film Expo this September http://3-dfilmexpo.com/filmguide/festival-schedule

Thanx for the reply Greg (and the poster!). If CFTBL does well, perhaps there'll be some rethinkage on a 3D version of ROTC and ICFOS. (...So get 2 copies, one for you and one for a friend! smile.gif) I may not be able to watch em in 3D for awhile, but at least I can enjoy some of the HD goodness.

Very nice article btw!...

Luv all the history and memorabilia. It sounds like the 3D on this title needed a bit more (or less in some cases) tweaking though.

My eyes may be playin tricks on me btw, but I think some or possibly all of the glasses-free stereoscopic screenshots in your article may have the L/R eyes reversed. The backgrounds seem to be protruding forward rather than receding in most of em... Or my eyes are crossing the wrong way. eek.gif  (Never a cross-eyed smiley around when you need one. biggrin.gif)

I tried reversing the L/R images of the hand comin through the porthole, and it looks much better that way... like the hand is REALLY COMIN AT YA! Someone else should try to confirm what I'm seein though.

Tip: It's a little easier to "fuse" the images if you start with them quite small (or sit way, way back from the screen), and then slightly increase the size or closeness, as your eyes may allow. (Don't go too big though, or your eyes may get stuck that way. wink.gif)

No red/blue glasses handy, so I can't check out the other 3D pix.

I too would hope Universal moves forward with IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE and REVENGE OF THE CREATURE. Both have a number of alignment issues that should be corrected, so keep the fingers crossed these titles are handled properly ..and/or that the Archive is consulted first.

Thank you for the kind remarks of our CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON review. The extensive research and exhaustive scans are the hard work of 3DFA President & founder Bob Furmanek who unearthed a number of gems even I had not seen before, including the sneak preview viewer comment cards. For the bluray review, we wanted to be able to show 3-D images that are easily accessible to anyone on the web. Along with the common red/cyan anaglyph 3-D viewing option, we chose the R/L cross-eyed format for optional glasses free 3-D viewing, as that seems to be easier for most compared to parallel L/R freeview viewing. If you are looking just at the smaller thumbnail images, it is very possible you may inadvertently be doing L/R free viewing with some of the images instead of doing cross-eyed viewing.

Here's the shot of the Creature's claw you had mentioned, shown in the R/L cross-eyed format

Warner Brother's HOUSE OF WAX is slated for Oct 1st on 3-D Bluray, which we plan on reviewing as well. WAX will also be playing on the big screen in September at the third World 3-D Film Expo. Hope to see you there!

Thanks again Greg. ^ That is precisely the image I was referring to. And I think I see what the problem is... As you've stated above, apparently there are two different flavors of glasses-free stereograms: parallel-view (which is what I seem to be doing), and crossed-eye-view (which I can't seem to do as easily). The latter is much tougher and more stressful on my eyes for some reason, maybe because I'm nearsighted or somethin. I try focusing on a pencil in front of the images and move it closer to my eyes, but still can't easily get them to fuse.

If I swap the images left to right though, then I can get them to fuse into a 3D image pretty easily with the parallel approach, just by looking "past" the monitor, or holding a card in between the images, so my left eye can only see the left image, and right eye can only see the right image. The images have to be smaller for that to work though. Very interesting stuff.

I was actually surprised to recently find that I can do cross-eyed viewing of 3D shots like that. It's far from perfect, though, I much prefer just kicking back on the couch with a pair of glasses. smile.gif
