Tom Cruise in Van Helsing reboot

Is Tom Cruise to be cast in every action movie for the next several years? Jack Reacher and now this...come on Hollywood!

This movie simply doesn't need to be remade. At least not now. Come on Hollywood, you can do better.
NO reason to remake this movie and absolutely no reason to recast with Cruise!

The concept of bringing together all of the classic Universal monsters into one "rally" movie still has potential, even if the previous Van Helsing flick botched it terribly. If this is a complete start-from-scratch reboot, I'd be willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.

Well it's not like the last one was a timeless masterpiece either... I'm with Josh... smile.gif

Well no one said anything earlier about Kate being in it. Along with that thinking, this movie almost HAS to be rebooted! biggrin.gif

I'll wait for the reboot released a couple of years after this one, thank you very much.

yeah but we might end up with Justin Bieber in the lead role.tongue.gif

Good point. It might also star Taylor Lautner roundhouse kicking everything off the screen in ultra-uber 3D.

Cruise is going to be "very" busy for the next few years. News broke today that he and Kate are getting a divorce so he's going to need some extra bills his lawyer and some for her.
Yeah, you can't get divorced when you only have $270+ million in the bank. frown.gif

Sure you can . . . if you have an iron clad Pre-Nup.

Yeah, but people who jump up and down on couches on Oprah probably don't think to get one. tongue.gif

What makes you happy doesnt make Universal happy. wink.gif

When they saw how much money Avangers made, this is the closest they can come up with.

Close . . . only counts in Horseshoes and Hand Grenades biggrin.gif

The public wants superhero movies . . . not old school monster movies.

LOL - is that a takeoff on the . . . "Well I did sleep at a Hoilday Inn last night" comedic line?

The original was too cheeseball for me. Another one of those Hollywood movies that tries to be action/horror and is too much action (to the point of being almost a cartoon) and not enough horror.

Not that I think they'd do a reboot much (if any) better.

Van Helsing is the worst movie I have ever seen with a budget above 100 million.

This won't be a reboot or a remake since that character has been around for a long long time. They will just do something closer to what the character is as opposed to the sh*t fest Steven Sommers gave us.

So, I take it that you absolutely LOVED the 2004 version. I'm sending a dump truck filled with 250,000 copies of the Blu-ray over to you right now. Enjoy.

Matt is a "vengeful sourpuss."
So, his opinion doesn't count here...tongue.gif

I'd suck on Kate Beck... Mmm... OK. Sorry. let my imagination take hold for a moment. Won't let it happen again.
Another reason not to reboot...how in the world could you get a hotter sidekick than Kate Beckinsale!!!!
