Can someone please provide me an original 60p sample from a panasonic camcorder (sd/tm 90, sd 800, tm900 ect), so i can test if my mediastreamers can play it without problems?

Thanx in A.

Be glad too. But tell me how because 1080p60 files are large enough that emailing them is out of bounds for my email server.

You might try finding one on Vimeo. If it was uploaded by a "plus" account holder it is supposed to preserve the original. The other thing you can do is go to a store with your own SD card, put it in a camera, shoot a few clips and try it that way.

What mediastreamers are you using?

Thanx. I appreciate that.

I can't just try it in a store because I live in Europe and they sell only the 50p versions here.

I use a western digital live media player and also stream to my ps3 via ps3 media server.

If u have a google account you can upload a file to Google docs (now Google drive) you can upload big files there and then create a download link.

Same with dropbox. All completely free.

Thanx again

Alex.

You are up late!

I have both a google account and a wd live TV media player. The files play well on the media player here in my 60 cycle world. I don't know if your media player is different from mine. And, I don't know about the ps3 since I don't have one.

It's time I learn more about Google drive, I'll try to get to that later today or tomorrow.

Should be here in about 30 minutes: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/74010941/Running%20River.m2ts It is the Icicle River near Leavenworth, Washington.

On edit: the file has been removed because MaterElwood completed the "mission"!

Yes Vimeo is a good place for it. I made a group for native clips a while back and here's the link.
https://vimeo.com/groups/native1920x108060pclips

A lot of the clips are either still native or they been native and aren't know since the user doesn't have plus.

Here's one in particular from me:

It's about 1 gig so it's pretty massive.

You have to be signed in to Vime download it though.

Did MasterElwood disappear?

No. Just crazy at work...

First tests with river file.

WD live media player : no problem.

VLC on pc: stuttering! (on a cuda quad-core). Did not expect that!

PS3 via PS3 media server : sometimes stuttering.

PS3 : plays video fluently - but no sound!

Conclusion : needs more testing.

If I may ask : what camera did you use filming the river?

Sorry about the work. I made it to retirement and have a little more control over my time. Today, after helping my dear wife pick out new carpets (groan), I got to spend a few hours with some online video and photo editing training. She is going to spend more on carpet than I get to spend on cameras!

The camera is a Panasonic HDC-SDT750. At the time I bought it, the tech specs for recording were the same as the 700, 800 and 900 models but it was marketed as a kit with a 3D adapter.

I've read where there can be some bit rate bursts that can clog up a PS3 in some ways. I don't have a PS3, so don't really know. I can get 1080p60 to play various ways including USB ports and data disks on my BD player and TV.

I'd always make sure to have the latest version of video playback software such as VLC but anyway, try Splash.

Terrific! I love a happy ending every time! Since you don't need the file I'll delete it from dropbox.

Does 1080p/60 playback on a PS3 now? I haven't tried it since last year. It used to stutter but 1080i was fine. Strange because a Sony N100 media player plays the same files just fine.

1080/60p AVCHD 2.0 disc's or 1080/60p native files? My PS3 will not play AVCHD 2.0 discs and I have the newest firmware installed. It won't play Panasonic 1080/60p native files..bogs down when bitrate gets too high. It plays Sony branded camcorder and camera 1080/60p native video files though. Go Figure....

So the PS3 hasn't changed. Seems weird that the Sony media players play the panny files fine but the PS3 doesn't.

Yes it does. It seems the Sony media players and current BD players manipulate the Panasonic 1080/60p native file bitrate, keeping them from spiking over 30 Mbps. This is when the PS3 has issues. My Sony S580 BD player keeps the bitrate below 30 Mbps when playing Panny 1080/60p files and it plays them fine.

I keep hoping that Sony upgrades the PS3 to accept AVCHD 2.0. They have not done so yet and I don't know why. I'm beginning to think that it might be a hardware limitation. I read a qoute on the internet from a Sony rep a long while back stating the the PS3 would be upgraded to AVCHD 2.0. Maybe he was mistaken?

I have seen my Sony N100 spike over 30 Mbps.
