Has anyone heard if there is another AVS Forum app for Android coming out anytime soon? Going through withdrawals here!

Why? Did you find it as horrible as I did?

No, I used it all the time. It quit working on my phone when they updated the website. Now there is not one in the Google Play Store. Just wondering if they were going to have another one anytime soon.

I miss it too. I am on the road all day and have to wait until I get home to review it. It sucks not having an app.

I believe the forum only works through the Tap-a-talk app now..

According to the mods, no new app planned, but there will be an HTML 5 version of the site available in the future that will better support mobile devices.

AVS did enable access to the Tapatalk platform, so if you don't mind paying for the app, there is still a mobile option though the functionality is limited.

Lots of discussions around mobile access here: http://www.avsforum.com/f/276/platform-launch-help-and-discussion

I've been using the tapatalk app for a few days and I feel like a heroin addict who has been given methadone. It holds me over, but its not the same. I like the avs app much better. Hoping they decide to release another one.

My AVS readership dropped significantly when the AVS mobile apps stopped working (android and iPad). frown.gif

I am using tapatalk on android again, but I liked the AVS apps better since it took less time to reach the content I wanted to read with the old apps. So I read less now.

Hopefully the html5 version will work well on mobile devices. The "mobile future" is here now -- I love AVS, and I hope they don't falter in this transition.

I hear you. I was pretty disappointed when the android app stopped working as well. Tapatalk just doesn't do it for me.

My readership has dropped as well. The new AVS Podcast goes a bit more in depth as to why they are not going to be updating the android app. It finally gave me the closure I felt I needed... Check it out. http://www.avsforum.com/t/1418568/avs-radio-is-on-the-air-episode-1-7-3-12

Thanks. I wouldn't use a piece of software, let alone pay for it if it forced me to so blatantly advertise it.

Hehe, yes you can turn it off. I included it in my post for dramatic effect. smile.gif
