which is the better sub klipsh rw 12 or the energy s10.3 subwoofer. newegg has them for a good price.do you think the klipsh is worth an extra hundred dollars over the energy sub

Klipsch sub is larger with a 12" woofer, a more powerful amp and a larger cabinet.

The Energy was just $169 last week with a promo code. I have that sub and it meets all my needs. Never heard the Klipsch.

Looks like the deal expired on the 4th for the RW-12d but they'll have another one shortly.

I also have the Energy 10.3 and think it does a great job, but it's the only HT sub I've ever owned. I paid $190 at Newegg, so not as much as it costs now but not as low as the other price mentioned above.

How big is your HT? My setup is in the parlor and the room is only 13x13. The Energy 10.3 is paired with two modest Cerwin Vega bookshelf speakers on stands and a Denon AVR-1612. The sub takes movie watching to another level and seems a good value for someone just starting out. I'd read a lot about the annoying blue light fritzing out and a few other questions about reliability so I just opted for the 2-year protection thing from Newegg for $30.

It was $189 with a $20 promo code discount last week. Maybe you missed the code?

The Klipsch RW12 is easily worth the money unless your room is 12' x 12' or smaller.

It is a far better subwoofer in all respects.

You mean better than S10.3? Would you care to please elaborate how RW12 is better please?

Ah damn, yeah I didn't enter any code. I suppose there's no way to get a credit back now? I know some retailers do that but not sure on Newegg

bigger cabinet + bigger woofer + more powerful amp = louder and deeper bass

The reason I asked that question was I recently bought S10.3 for a room larger than what he mentioned, so wondering if I need a bigger sub or this should be okay. Mine is going to be paired with RC10 (L/R) and RC LCR.

I think you're about to find out if the s10.3 is good enough for you since its on the way. My room is larger than 12 x 12 and the s10.3 is fine.

I love my rf12, i have a apt home and i usually have to turn the bass down during movies because its so "loud" for the neighbors and such biggrin.gif I also set it up in a large house and it does fade a bit, I can see how people get two subs for larger rooms. /cheers
