Hi Guys, I run a new company called Altsie that partners with businesses like bars, coffee shops, and restaurants to show films using HD projectors. We handle film licensing and let businesses turn themselves into part-time microtheaters, selling tickets through our site. It's been pretty cool so far, and people love the shows.
We're trying to put together a "standard package" for new businesses interested in getting up and running: screen, projector, player, sound, cabling. I'm meeting with some pros tonight to chat through the issue but thought I would put it out for the community here. We're looking for an inexpensive, dependable system that can show for 30-50 (packed). Generally pretty dark settings but it would be interesting to hear some opinions on projectors that can handle a small amount of ambient light. Just to note--we've never had a screen users haven't liked--one of our partners shows with a junky old projector with color balance issues, and people keep coming back--they're in for the experience--i.e. beer
Got any thoughts?
