Denon Receiver with 4ohms speakers.

Im going to buy a av receiver.

The options right now are:

Denon 2112
Denon 2312
Denon 3312

The only reason Im chossing the 2312 or the 3312 is for more watts, as you can see In features the is really no big differences for my needs, the 3 of them have audyssey multieq xt.

I have sony speakers that came with and HTIB and they are 4ohms.

will any of this receiver drive them well?

Note that I like to hear at high vol a lot (movies and music)
Will the 2112 with its 90w be enough or what?

Other suggestions at that price range Is welcome.

By the way, Is going to be a 6.1 system, soo only one soundroundback will be instaled

Generally it's not a good idea to run HTIB speakers off of other than the receiver they came with, so your best served selling them and getting a new set of 8-ohm speakers. That said, none of the listed models is likely to run those speakers at near reference level (ie. loud) levels without shutting down in protection mode, although the 3312CI does have a full set of pre-outs to connect an external amp (eg. Emotiva XPA-5) which would more effectively power them at louder volumes.

Soo, Its better to buy a new set of speakers?

I test those speakers with an Onkyo tx nr807 and they sound average. but I was able to set the vol al 0db and the receiver was good (no protection mode)

The speakers are this ones

The 80X and 70X AVRs are designed to work with 4-ohm speakers.

How is onkyo in quality?

That 807 Is having the HDMI card problem, sometimes it work sometimes dont.

And I have heard that Onkyo Is having quality issues recently.

You got it .... wink.gif It will do what you want, but the question is ... for how long?

As I already suggested, just sell the HTIB setup with the speakers and apply the money towards 8-ohm speakers and then you can use most any AVR on the market.

Right now I only have 700$ to spend and I choosing between the receiver or Infinity speakers.

The speakers will be
P253BK
PC251BK
P143BK Only 3 of these Is going to be a 6.1 system.

Is that, or the receiver.

Maybe I buy the speakers and next year I buy the receiver.

meanwhile I keep using the receiver of the htib with the Infinitys.

What do you think about the Onkyo 709? It is a reliable receiver? any complaints? the new line of onkyo the cheaper with audyssey xt is the 81x and its out of my budget.

It's generally always better to upgrade the speakers before upgrading the receiver, with the rule of thumb being to spend 2x-3x the cost of the AVR on speakers.

Drop the 6.1 to 5.1 (save $100) and sell the HTIB ($100) and that pays for a refurb Denon 1612.

Ok with that said I will drop to 5.1 buy the infinity speakers. and later I will buy the receiver, as I want the receiver to be future proof (7.1 and more features, more watts, etc).

Is that what you would do?

Ok thanks, Are those speakers good on a 600$ budget. I have to buy in amazon.

There are likely better options. Check in the Speakers forum and provide your budget, room size, and volume requirement and ask for some recommendations.

Hello, I have a Yamaha RX-V750 here, and I connected it to the HTIB Speakers and It sound very well. The vol at the Receiver never go below -10db and its sound better and loud than the other receiver. soo the speakers arent that bad at all.

Also the receiver Is no as near as hot as the one that came with the HTIB.

So it would seem you have your solution. smile.gif
