I have an expert mode, but when I play movie from the usb I can select only standard, vivid, cinema from the Menu...
Instead, when I play movie from the playstation with HDMI I can select the expert mode I made.

What can I do?

There is no solution,it is as well.
By usb cannot access to expert mode, only to contrast, brightness, color, definition and edge enhancement.

So my experiences now:
I got a jun 2012 built with an extreme focus bug.
And the focuswheel was not turnable while the projector is mounted on tripod or on tip with the tripod screw.

I sent it back cuz this two points were annoying.

Anger that your unit has a focus issue mad.gif
It´s very strange that the focus ring does not work while the projector is mounted on a tripod. It makes no sense

I am now going to the PA70 and if this does have focus bug it is much easier to fix like on the little PB60.
I've got the money for it yet but I'm waiting for my backpayment.

Thanks for the answer espetodesardina wink.gif

Your settings are very good to me, so I wanted use them also in USB mode but seems like isn't possible.

Do you suggest to change "contrast, brightness, color, definition and edge enhancement" (and if so, how) or leave them as they are?

Brightness 50/60
Color 55/60

Edge Enhancement Off

focus issue apart , pa70 at least and by the pictures than i see of the pb60 to ,
the picture is a little bit blurry if you compare with a 1080 dlp projectors than are razor sharp picture.

I was testing the espeto settings and are very good but on the pa70 the red color is too low for me .

I change the setting on vivid to warm and the gamma to low i like to see all in the dark shadows although sacrifice blacks.

now i am moving from the vivid with this adjust and standard with the same adjust in gamma

for me is impossible mixed the colors i do it i think is good then i go back to this modes and ruin me thoughts

if human beans kind nice and sweet who own a sensor maybe can do a pro calibration of the colors.

dgamepimp do it but i never seen the results

Hi I just got a PB60G and it's quite difficult to focus it well, but after some time it gets to the point, anyway it's never perfect if you check with a black pattern and white lines the white lines alwas have some ""shadow"" over the black. I think it's just cheap optics or because I'm using a white wall instead of a projection screen.

Appart from that which is unnoticable in any other situation than focus test patterns I have a issue that I want to know if anyone else noticed which actually I think it's a defect.

I can't take pictures of it due the bad dynamic range of cameras compared to human eye but the projector creates some light on the edges easily noticable with a white wall and a black image on screen, it's like on what would be the edges of the lens projected into the wall, really small amouts of light leaking. Is that normal? any of you managed to notice it? I still can return it to amazon but what I wolud to is to ask for another unit so it doesn't make sense if it's just the way this projector is.

Here a image of where I see light:

Thanks biggrin.gif

the pa70g do this too.

Ok, then it's normal. I've found that I can cover the borders of the lens with something and it won't do it anymore.

Yesterday I received my PB60G and I've spent a couple of hours testing it. Apparently beamer-discount shipped it three days ago but they forgot to tell me smile.gif At least the price was all right (€559 shipping incl. to Denmark).

Here's my impression so far (I am using a 76"/194 cm wide wall in my living room, so I won't go in to details about image quality):

Brightness is improved (around 60% on highest setting) but the fans are way too loud on the brightest setting. The noise while using medium setting is tolerable and the brightness is about 30% better than a HW300 on the lowest setting.

Sharpness is better than all the compact LED projectors I've tested. I would say that on my unit it's 98% conform. In my experience this can vary depending on the individual unit.

I've been playing too much around with the focus to say anything reliable about focus shift.

The overall picture is NOT perfect but this is a $550 projector and it's not much longer or thicker than a Cohiba Esplendido. You'll find all sorts of flaws if you look for them but the overall picture is better than what you get from DELL M110, BenQ GP2, HW300G, HW300Y and BenQ W1060 (!). You'll also find all the cool expert settings you need for your endless tweaking.

Since the focus wheel is placed rather close to the unit's very responsive controls I've managed to get tangled in various menus when adjusting focus. This is the price of Nano-mania: PB60G is impressively compact... and I sure like it.

The unit cools down so fast I have a hard time believing it. It does not overheat when operated for several hours. I have mine on a tripod and the quick plate blocks half of one of the lower ventilation grids.

I've hooked it up to my Mac and also seen movies via a USB stick.

As long as I have a pair of headphones I would never use the built-in speakers but they are acceptable. Obviously no bass but rather loud. @Fatalfury, if you prefer compact speakers over headphones check out X-mini or Altec Lansing's Orbit. They are better.

It handles a wide variation of codecs and containers. Subtitles work great. Though I haven't tested Croatian or Hindi subs...

You can feed it 24Hz in 1080p mode! You're not stuck in 60Hz. Thank you LG!!!

Cons?

- Loud when operated with highest brightness.

- Brightness setting affects sound via mini-jack due to poor shielding. The interference is almost not audible with lowest light output but unacceptable with highest ouput when heard through headphones.

- You can change aspect ratio but you can't change energy mode (brightness) or picture mode while using a USB stick (you can go back to menu, change and go back to USB. The built-in player remembers your position).

At night time I watch 720p movies via USB/Mac on a simple white wall with a set of super old B&O speakers or a nice pair of headphones. The medium brightness setting is perfect for me - the internal sound interference via headphones and/or the fan noise are acceptable as long as I keep it on medium or low brightness. I would probably only put it in the highest brightness mode when using it for a party or when watching a hardcore action movie. Now I'm just being hysterical. I would probably just use it when I feel like it. All in all I am a very happy man.

PS. The projected image diagonal is 90".

I'm planning to buy this projector. LG PB60G, I plan to use it to watch movies at night. I'm expecting a image diagnonal of 100-120inches in 16:10 ratio. My hall is 16x14 feet and I plan to use a ceiling mount for the projector.

I'm planning to buy my own LG LED projector. Now I would like to make sure that I don't get an demo product or the product which is used for a while even 2 days. There is a higher probability I may get a used product. Is there a way or by log I can see if the lamp is used before. I have heard that lamp usage hours are logged by the projector. I have read the PA70G user manual but I couldn't see something which answers my query.

Anyone else experienced any interference using the audio out port? I want to buy this projector and connect external speakers to it, so it would be helpful to know...

Thanks and cheers

I use an external mini speaker "Logitech mini boom box" and it works fine. I use the speaker at the extent of its volume and there is no interference that is noticeable to me or any of my family. I use a 8ft stereo mini jack lead and this causes no problems. I am no audiophile however if there was interference I'm the type of person who couldn't put up with it. I have used this with both a 2.5 hd with the projector providing power and a raspberry pi plugged in running xbmc providing power from the projector and get no audible interference. However I have not used headphones.

Anyone could tell me the size (and weight if possible) of the power supply? I travel a lot and would like to know how big it is...
Also if anyone succeeded in replacing it by a smaller one, I'd love to know which one.

Thnx a lot

I got my PB60G yesterday. I didn't have too much time to play around but it seems that in the PJt mode settings, the Ceiling mode is disabled. Any idea why is that?

Between LG PB60G and ACER K135, which projector should i choose? the price is same in my country. I am going to watch 720p movies on the projector using hdmi cable through laptop. The most important thing for me is the image. I am not looking for quiet,portable,3D,MHL etc features. So between LG PB60G and ACER K135, which ones image is better?
Below are two screen shots from my LG PB60g, shot onto a a 120" BOC screen. The first image utilizes espetodesardina setting at max brightness. The second image settings are my own settings on minimum brightness. Both pictures were taken with a GS3 during live action

Hi fellows! I see that my setup is still in operation
This is the last that i have, I always try to improve.
It is ideal for my living room, if where you are going to project not convinced you can modify it to your liking (you can use Expert Mode 2, and so you have two modes of image well-calibrated)

MOVIE Mode Vs EXPERT Mode (Batman:The Dark Knight Rises IMAX Version);

The Movie mode is characterized by a reddish tone and lack of definition in the image, if we compare both modes it seems another projector. With this setting increases the brightness and sharpness between other aspects and get a great image quality for a projector of this size and price. If the movies with real actors are spectacular, the animation movies are not left behind... a picture is worth a thousand words...

espetodesardina, your settings are awesome!
But how are you able to use the expert mode with a mkv file?
I suppose you put the mkv in a usb pendrive, but with the usb mode you can't choose expert mode... so what do you use for playing the mkv files?
