Hello!
I recently got a Toshiba DR430KU DVD recorder in order to transfer a lot of VHS tapes to DVD for use in my classroom. I successfully (I thought) completed my first DVD last night, including setting the chapter marks where I wanted them at the beginning of each scene; but when I tried to play it back today, I found that the chapter marks would only play correctly in the Toshiba recorder -- when I played the DVD on my computer or on another DVD player, it reverted to automatic (every 10 minutes) chapters. I had not formatted the disc before recording, as I understood from the manual that was only necessary for a RW disc (I recorded onto a DVD+R). Did I need to format? Is there something else I might be missing in the process, or is this a quirk of the machine? (I should be able to get the chapters to play where I set them in another DVD player, right? I hope?)
thanks very much for any ideas!
