well, I've posted 2 x about rebooting the phone & router and you've not bothered to reply once to my suggestion, that you already tried that or not rolleyes.gif

but you've managed to reply to 2 others who haven't solved your problem. I guess my advice isn't relevant or useful but at least you could say you've already tried it or not to someone taking the time to help you out based on their own experience getting it to work instead of continuing to complain about it not working.

I'm done - fumble on.

I'm not the one who has a problem; the app works for me wink.gif

btw - I didn't just make it up...it's the advice given on Pioneer Japan's troubleshooting FAQ page for the icontrol apps. but you can continue to wonder why it's not working...

Thanks, pressing "net" button first did the trick.

Hey guys - newbie on the forum and just recently bought a vsx-1122-k. Just updated firmware (finally after a FAT reformat from a different post). It seems to be working great, but I've noticed a periodic static in the TV speakers when I have an input selected. My assumption is a bad HDMI cable from output to the TV as it goes away when unplugged. Will try to replace it tomorrow. Anyone else noticed that before?

Around 30 was great for Star Trek(2009) on Blu ray for me but Stereo sources for me end up in the lower 20's from my HTPC. Keep in mind it goes to +12db so at 30 or 20 you still have headroom left.

Ok, thanks! Mesostinky... i was just skeptical with the listening levels and it appears my receiver and speakers are good.. smile.gif

Hey everyone - great thread, already searched for a couple set up issues and resolved them thanks to previous Q & A. Here's a new one for you, I'm trying to update the firmware via USB to run Pandora. I've downloaded the update to a 2Gb USB memory stick, went to other setup and the "update via USB" option is greyed out, can't select it. I've looked through all the other menu options, can't find a place to turn it on, rather I can't figure out how to turn it on.

Anyone run into this issue and solve it? thanks! doug

Has anyone extensively played with the video processing capabilities of the VSX-1122-K? Any comments on how it does at improving picture quality/noise reduction versus other AVRs?

I do see that in the product description the unit has "Qdeo processing technology" but don't see much discussion on the performance of the unit in this respect or any comment about how effective it is.

Did you confirm you have version 1-188-076-019-151?

I was planning on getting a USB thumb drive to do the upgrade but since I had the receiver hooked up to my network and saw the option via GUI to check for firmware upgrade I gave it a shot. It took about 5 minutes to go from 0 to 100% followed by the receiver shutting down and staying off. I waited a few minutes and turned it back on. And verified that the version was indeed updated.
At least I thought I verified the version. I'm at work now. Let me see if there's any way I can access the receiver from here to pull the version. if not, I'll verify tonight at home. Maybe it didn't update to the version that has the Pandora fix.

I may have had this problem. Make sure only the update files are on the Usb drive (not the folder they come in). Also check the file format of the drive, Mine was FAT16, others have had success with FAT32, but I doubt it would recognise a Mac formatted drive.

BTW The Pandora upgrade will not help you if you live in Australia. Pioneer have intentionally made this (Pandora) feature inoperable. (So you have to pipe it from your iOS device instead.)
And I just verified that the internet update was not the latest firmware. Ended in 140 instead of 151. Updating as we speak via USB. Downloaded from my Macbook and the 8gb thumb drive is formated with Fat-32 FS. Hopefully Pandora will work after this update. Will take about 10 minutes.

And Pandora works. So now I'm a very happy new owner of this AVR biggrin.gif

oTryed many different ways but finally went and bought the PNY 4gb flash drive for like 10$ at best buy and it finally worked

Im soo sorry, i didnt mean to offend you. I tried doing that and it didnt work. I did get it to finally work, by pressing the NET button. Thank you for replies.

Has anyone come up with a good way to label the remote to match the new lables on the reciever?
Use a Harmony remote?

Still struggling with my setup. I get the confirm code and entered it but the remote and screen seem to freeze and buttons don't work. Any tips with Pandora setup?

I just purchased a VSX-1122-K.

It works for a while and then the display goes out. The receiver displays HDCP Error. If I power cycle the receiver, it will work for a little while again. But it will happen over and over.

I had my sources plugged into the Pioneer PDP-5070 for years, so I don't think the problem resides with the TV or sources.

Is the receiver bad or do I have something not configured correctly? Ideas?

Thx

I got it just prior to Christmas and am still wading my way through it. As a start I have a simple Q, can the amp playback a playlist via Media Server in a random order? I can get the random function to work OK when playing back the iPod, but can't seem to get it to do that when playing a *.wpl

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Nothing to assist here?

Can anyone give me any idea if my new 1122 is broken or is it bad design? If I can't figure it out, I'm going to have to send it back and not replace it.

A quick google search came up with these.

Worth a shot, It would also be worth contacting Pioneer support, they usually get back to you in a few days, and might have a definitive answer for you

- First, don't make the same mistake I did. Make sure you've updated the firmware to the latest from the Pioneer site. You need to do this via USB flash drive.
- Second, you can log into your receiver from a web browser to put in your pandora credentials after it has the latest firmware. This will save your email and password so the system will log you in automatically. These settings didn't save for me till after I had the latest firmware ending in -151.
- Third, I suggest trying a reboot of the system and try again. I haven't actually experienced any freezing with my AVR and now I mostly control the system with the iPhone app. So much easier than using the remote.

Good luck!
How did you log into your receiver from the web ??
Get your receivers IP address by looking up the connected client IPs in your router. Http to that ip in a browser and boom, you're there.
Is it the same IP address that's listed on the receivers network information screen ? I'm not sure how to get into my router.
Wow, I'm in - thanks.
I've started developing a desktop app to control the vsx-1122-k...it establishes a tcp connection when opened and responds to commands instantly after that. I only have basic functions ATM (on/off, volume, input select)... I will make it available when it's more functional if anyone is interested.

Awesome advice thanks, that did it. Also a note so others don't make the same mistake I did. Using the factory remote once you select the pandora input don't use receiver button to control, hit the NET button to work the remote. Duh!

Im interested. You connect via telnet; right? I want something I really need and would like to know if its possible. . I want some app so you can select any on the 6 memory banks from mcacc instead of using the remote and swap between them. For example if i have to compare EQ from bank 1 and EQ from bank4; I have to jump between the others and we lost the audio comparsion from the other. Would be nice if we can select one then another without jumping between them!....

Woukld be better if Paioneer release any firmware so if you want to EQ while keeping the audio but it not; as soon as yo enter in GUI all audio and video is lost! frown.gif
